I agree with you to some extent (I want a new Wave Race) regarding too much focus lately on JnR, but please don't bring Sony to your own discussion when you list Killzone, Infamous and Uncharted as examples of their diversity.

And if you mention Heavy Rain, a game not developed by Sony, I could as well throw in games like Lego City Undercover and Bayonetta 2.

BTW: Nintendo makes more RPGs and strategy games than Sony or Microsoft.

But as others have said there is plenty of variery. But Nintendo's main franchises are platformers.

You only need to think platformers are easy to make and low risk, so come at the start of the gen. Come next year, only 1 platformer is announced for the U.

I'm not much of a Nintendo gamer at all but seriously, whatever happened to Wave Race? I used to love that game! On a similar note, what did Sony do with Jet Moto? Both awesome games!

i think platformers just take less time to make. All that other stuff will come. Other than that platformers have been pretty lucrative for them as a company.
