Forums - Nintendo - Mario Kart 8 -- 2x 7 minute off-screen footage

The environments and the lighting look really good. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed still has the edge when it comes to items, gameplay variations (flying and wave racing beats gliding and underwater driving IMO), and the overall sense of speed.

To be fair - the demo only contains 3 items. We don't know what the final item roster will be. And IMO flying and wave racing felt incredibly clunky in Sonic All-Stars Racing transformed (especially wave racing - even if the controls of  wave racing are supposed to feel as slow as they do)

I believe I already posted these in the MK8 thread but whatever.

I do not like the bikes though.

Why not? It appears they've been balanced from their OP Wii counterparts. No more inward drifting or wheelies.

Actually the demo contains more than that, and there's more we know for sure will be in the final game. I posted a full list in the official MK8 thread.

Mushrooms, Bananas, Fireflowers...Oh right, shells. This still leaves like 10+ items slots open (compared to the last few MK's)

No one ever goes to those official threads. New threads is where it is at.

As long as the bikes are less arcadey, I will be fine. I am still not that into them.

lol not true, and new threads with outdated information you mean. Official threads also have all the info in one place, rather than broken up into a billion threads.

Btw, what does arcadey mean?

Did you look at the list I posted? There certainly isn't room for +10 items lol. I don't think we'll have any more than three new items, just like in MK7.

Loooook at the footage!

Okay, now that I've watched it:

Snaking is back? Yuck.

Bikes don't have a different boost system than karts? What the hell is the point, then?
