Looks like snaking might be a problem, hope they fix that on the final release.
Other than this looks really good, first MK game I have truly been excited about.

That "snaking" you saw has always been there, in MKWii and in MK7. However with power boosting being automatic rather than manual, you don't gain any speed by doing it, infact it's slower than just going straight. The only real purpose to doing it, atleast in MK7, is to bang around lighter karts at the very beginning of a race while you're in a big heavy kart. I usually use the smallest n lightest karts, so I definitely hate people that do that lol.
As for Bikes, the point is to keep the game balanced. Inward drifting and wheelies made Bikes OP in MKWii, so those features had to be removed. There's still the stat difference though, being that Bikes are generally slower n lighter but more agile and accelerate better than Karts. Plus they look different and will have their own customizations. More vehicle variety is always good me thinks.| Einsam_Delphin said: I believe I already posted these in the MK8 thread but whatever.

You did!
@Curl-6; of course it will. All Mario Kart games are extremely popular and always reach to many sectors of the Video Game community. Even Mario Kart: Double Dash sold well.
Yeah, I also noticed how the guy "snaked" for a while.

It looks awesome.
Awesome tracks, awesome graphics, awesome everything.
I want it now, I can't believe I'm this hyped for a Mario Kart game. They better put that demo online soon

I know they said this for MK7, and it definitely feels like boosting isn't too easy and you can't snake in that game, but look at Donkey Kong 3:40. Sure seems to be getting a lot of boosts really quickly on a straight. It's hard to imagine he'd be going faster if he wasn't boosting.
I see your point on bike boosting, but I think we'll have to agree to disagree on what constitutes "variety."

Looks mighty fine. Looking forward to investing another 1000 hours or so into this game!
