My guess is PSN becomes the auction house, you put your games/trophies(is that considered cheating?) into auction then the auctioneer becomes the host, then players who are looking for deals that aren't in PSN goes to look for potential game auctions? There's probably a limit to PSN credits you will offer to the auctioneer then the winner of the auction transfers the money to the one who put the game/trophy to auction. If that it is, then colour me intrigued.

About bold, I'm thinking the more intelligent option, if that's what it is, is that if you get a certain amount of trophies, they act as virtual credit towards a future purchase?

If that's real, Sony just won this generation. Selling used games/trophies/objects without going through the perils of DRM. It's pretty clever.

I hope not. Trophies will become useless if they do that.

 

Edit: it would be pretty cool if they gave you credit for your trophies. Like 5$ for each platinum. That would encourage buying games and getting trophies, but that will also encourage developers to make easy trophies. So not all positive. :p

No it wouldn't... it would encourage developers to make harder trophies being that they know they carry monatary value for gamers now and they will have more incentive to grind for trophies and keep the game longer and more oppertunity to sell DLC that has trophies and less used game sales.

Everyone is on MS' ass for monetizing everything, from xbox live to DRM policies to the control of used games. Ultimately it all boils down to concerns over money and what you get for that money.

Yet here Sony and you the gamer will be able to monetize everything from trophies to the advice you give and you lap it up like there's no tomorrow.

A valid point. It's happening with some for the online paywall already also. MS are giving away achievements for free apparently too next gen. I wonder how many more money grabs Sony will do to help offset the cheap price of the PS4. Will BC cost money? Unlikely, that would suck.
