This is SO the future of Final Fantasy , loved every second of it.

Weird how this game is probably going to be the foundation of the next Kingdom Hearts, I remember early in development how they mentioned it would play closer to Kingdom Hearts rather then Final Fantasy and now it is a main Final Fantasy title.

Yep, although really it seems to be a short range type of teleporting/invisible dash, similar to what you see in some Dragonball Z fighting games and I beleive it was in the most recent Kingdom Hearts game as well.

I'm actually not looking forward to this. SE has not delivered a solid experience with FF when trying to do this style of combat. KH worked because of the different setting and it was simplified versus the typical FF game commands. Hopefully they can manage to do something new, otherwise it'll be a monotonous button pressing the same attack the rest of the game.
