Forums - Sony - PS4 console in 3D, measurements: is the PS4 too small?? I'm worried about overheating, we need to talk about it.

Sony has a good track record with hardware. Obviously they wouldn't release something that would die within a few months or even years.

If heat was a worry, we would see an external power brick rather than internal.

Low power cores and the vents in the back should make it okay.

Isn't that just a point of pride for Sony? They even managed to cram it in the slimline PS2 models in its final redesign. Does the current super slim have one?

good stuff to see i like it,might light up nice and pretty too

I cant remember 100% on that, but then again the PS2 was never likely to overheat when it hit the final redesign. The original Slim PS2 had the external though, iirc.

I think MS made X1 overly big so when they do like Sony by providing a slimmer model they can say "the X1 slim is a whopping 40% smaller than the current version" and everybody will be like " omg! look how much smaller it is"

They will also have room for a 3rd revision when they do that again like Sony

I thought the PS4 was ugly when i 1st looked at it. Its neutral now. It looks look 2 ps2 slims slapped together lol

and how the hell are we supposed to turn the PS4 on? I didn't see any buttons

The power button is on the upper front 'division', eject button on the lower front 'division', lined with the LED blue line.

Wikipedia says that the 2nd gen PS2 "lacks an internal power supply"

But I am not worried about this at all

I didn't look in to this, but one journalist rumoured that the Xbone is so much bigger than the PS4 because the Xbone has an internal power brick and the PS4 has an external one.

Alternatively Microsoft might want to integrate tv decorders into their spacious Xbone

Given their respective histories, I wouldn't count on that, but it does seem like the most logical explanation.

The One brick is external.

Idk, maybe Sony made a work around.
