First of all : I have no respect for people who support the Xbox One anymore for all the reasons we know.

But like many people I thought "Okay, most gamers hate the Xbox One/Microsoft but will the casual audience buy it". Because we're not talking about disliking the Xbox One for whatever reasons, for exemple the Xbox 360 as always been considered as a great console and competitor to the PS3. It's a matter of...of well there's no need to explain anymore.

THEN, I went on different social networks (various audiences, from casual, to hipsters, to teens...) and realized :  even the casual audience seems to be reacting really bad to the Xbox One.

So my questions are : is Microsoft counting on the ultra couch potatoes, the ones who don't use social network, don't read media or inform themselves ?

is Microsoft so confident in the support of big publishers (although they have few exclusives from them), the government or other lobbies/agencies ?

Seeing as the EPT (european poker tournament) is the trending topic... the rest of the world doesn't really give a f about the console war... ps4, xbox1 or wiiu.... they are going to have a rough time..

Why spend 400 bucks on a console and 60 on a game when you have a smartphone and 1 buck games and get the same timewasting fun?

Anyone who watched the conference, posted on those pages about it or really has an opinion right now is HARDCORE.

Casuals don't even know Xbox One's name yet.

Because consoles are mainstream, and part of our lifestyle now.

Do anyone really need a tablet ? Everybody in my surrounding whom have a tablet have a laptop and a smartphone too.

Do they need it ? No

Do they buy it ? Yes

It's called 21st century, where you see people making their month's provisions in a store, not having enough to pay but still having an iphone, a big TV and a Mercedes

Im getting the xbox one, some of the games they showed looked freaking incredible. I'm also getting a ps4. I also have a wii u. There is nothing wrong with people buying a console that appeals to them. If people like the games on the x1 and dont care about the restrictions then there is nothing wrong with that.

No. For some reason, there just isn't any xbox presence on the internet.

Yet when it comes to sales, the games do just fine. Xbox fans are xbox fans, they play the games and thats it. They don't go about trolling the internet like others.

I remeber there was  a GOWA vs GOWJ poll. GOWA has more then four times the amount of votes in terms of whos buying. Did GOWA sell four times as much as GOWJ. No. Despite much more marketing and hype, Acension hasn't even outsold Judgemnt. These polls on the internet are meaningless.

I'm getting an Xbox One. I have great internet, use Steam and will go digital on Xbox One.

The casual might not care too much for used games, drm etc. Unless, it starts spreading on social media, then it could create a bad impression. The price point is way to high for the casual right now though imo. The wii had a nice pricepoint for it to catch fire, xbox one does not.
