Hmm, I must be missing something. That RDR pic you posted semed to have many objects with missing shadows in it, unless those beloved alpha-textured sprites aren't supposed to have any.

If anything, that's a distraction.

go play the game every object reflects realisticly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pROWml_4sYQ here is proof, you think X looks better thats fine by, but some of u guys seem to have a problem with me because i think RDR looks better, when i gave clear reasons to why i think looks better.

Nothing wrong with thinking that RDR looks better, because a lot of that comes down to taste. Some people might find RDR's environments bland is comparison to X's. Some will see it the other way.

I'm not so sure how anyone can say it's a more technically advanced game, especially given X's much longer draw distances. Assuming that nothing goes particularly wrong with pop-in and loading once X is released (should be quite a feat with those fast-moving vehicles), the only real rival on PS360 I see is GTAV, a game with a much bigger budget and longer development time. Even if X doesn't end up topping that, I can't deny that Monolith knows how to squeeze a system.

well as you can see the lighting is clealry more advanced in RDR and the the foilage is mostly using alpha textures, i'm not sure why anybody saying rdr is more advanced buggles your mind.

You give evidence that RDR is more advanced in some areas without acknoledging that X is superior in others. If you want to say RDR looks better, I don't have a problem with that. But to prove that it's more technologically advanced, you're going to need quite a lot more details, buddy.

i'm not trying to prove anything, all i said is i think RDR looks better, gave my reasons because people started calling me out. we can't prove anything cause X is not out yet, heck we don't even have any real quality gameplay footage to watch.

can we please, PLEASE keep the technical crap off to the side until we at least get to final screens of X?

Well, there's nothing to discuss then. I disagree with your reasons mainly because I don't see huge differences in the areas you say are better in RDR, but I also know that X's graphical strengths would probably be unecessary in RDR as the approach to open-world design isn't the same. So whatev, F0X out!

It was my understanding that the Wii U had better graphical capabilities than the PS3, but probably has a similar problem as the PS3 in terms of 3rd part support to actually capitalize on the Wii U capabilities. Glad to see there is a great looking title on the Wii U though!

I will permaban myself if the game releases in 2014.

in reference to KH3 release date

Comparing newly-released trailers for a game that "comes out sometime next year" to games that have already been released is pointless. The game looks nice, possibly better than current-gen...in trailers.

Feel free to debate this point when you can show in-game footage from the finished product, alongside a point of comparison. Until then, it's just aggrandizing, and a pointless debate overall.

What it comes down to is this: right now, the Wii U does not have games that are significantly improved over current-gen as to be considered next-gen. The fact it might some day doesn't change that.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

The problem is, until a game of WiiU completely blows away ps360 visuals, some will not accept it as a significantly more powerful system. Right now, their is still room for arguments.

Precisely that. I don't care if the PS4's GPU is constructed from solid unobtanium, with enough raw power to melt the polar ice caps, if the games that come out for it don't look any better than they do on the PS3. The same with the Wii U; power means nothing if you don't use it,

I'd say this latest trailer destroys once and for all the idea that Wii U is graphically on par with or worse than PS3/360.

The scale and detail is really something.

But more importantly, the art direction looks great too, which will hopefully lead to vistas as memorable as Xenoblade's.

Not to poop on your parade but I think people are making too big a deal out of this. Does the game look good? Yes. Does it look mindblowing? I don't think so.
