I never rate games this early, as they need some time to sink in after the hype dies down a bit.

That said, I'm completely in love with the game already and it definitely maintains the high standards I've come to expect from the series... and then some. The Star Cup is especially amazing; possibly my favorite Cup ever.

Really don´t understand why the hell they overlooked it, every Mario Kart has an on-screen map, no?...it´s always been useful when I´m playing with my friends, and the lack of it in this game is getting in the way of enjoying it.


The map is on the gamepad.  what I do Is I prop the gamepad up at the bottom of my TV so I have a dual-screen SmartGlass type deal goin' on lol.  it's useful for quick glances, particularly online to get the scope of the current ranking situation.

but yeah no option for on-screen map is one of my few gripes so far (aside from the totally screwed roster.)

Is anyone else having trouble finding the Mario Kart TV app on the iPhone app store? Also, does anyone know where I can find a complete list of all the karts and parts? (with pictures)

well ive finally played enough to give an opinion. currently played through 50% and so far Im definitely enjoying it. Its a solid game although it has a few flaws, firstly the coin item is a joke. bring back the FIB if you want to leave 1st defenceless. I tried 3 player and for the first time ever I fealt like a games framerate was off. Ive played games that dip and what not but it just fealt wrong the whole time. At least 1-2 players is amazing.. Not any stand out courses so far imo but it usually takes time to find a couple of faves.
Obviously this is all early first impressions. Cant wait to try online but most importantly I cant wait to see how the competitive scene shqpes up.

Yeah I too would say 8. 8.5-9 if the competitive game does well.MKWii had a strong competitive comp from launch allthe way to it being shut off recently. If MK8 is anything like that I will be damn impressed.
