I enjoy using the items and prefer them in Smash Bros.  But I've played against people who always--constantly--try to play with them turned off like they're desperate to force Smash Bros to be a "normal" fighting game.  Once or twice is fine and all, but always?  Damn, just shut off the individual items you don't particularly like.  There was a guy on another site that actually got mad at having items on the stage.  Like, he felt cheated if someone used an item to KO him, rather than a regular attack.  It seemed that he was always trying to force Smash Bros to be Virtua Fighter 2.

Did you ever think that maybe that person really enjoys using Ness and has a lot of fun playing on Final Destination? Of course not, because you can't even for a second think outside your own childish mentality of "What's fun for me is fun for everyone." I love playing with all characters, but I'm not about to insult people who pick one or two they really like and stick with them. If you don't like playing with them then play with the rest of us. No one forces you to be in that match after all.

It's more obvious to me that you cannot stand losing and have to make excuses for it. "Oh he kept picking Final Destination." "Oh I was picking different characters while he kept using the same one." Bull shit. I won a Brawl yesterday with Bowser with two stock remaining, had the most kills, and had over 200% more damage given than taken. Bowser. You can win with anyone so stop making excuses.

Let the poor guy you were playing have his fun and go find your own but don't act like a snob and insult him because he found something fun that you obviously don't.

You know how stupid you look when you just totally ignore a point?  It isn't about losing, it's about playing against assholes who do all they can to remove all the fun, variety, and joy from a game so they can stroke their own fragile ego.  I could be beating the loser who uses Ness and Final Destination every single time and it would still be the same thing.  Nintendo gamers are clearly not meant for online gaming.  Nintendo is ready, but it's fans don't want anything to do with variety.  No wonder each new bland, predictable, repetitive Zelda game continues to sell.

I can handle losing.  Clearly, anyone who only uses one (or a whopping two or three) characters constantly cannot.  I won several, did well without totally losing or winning, and lost some.  Same story every single time--if I was up against some prick with a fragile ego who feared actually switching characters or stages (you know, actually using the offered variety and customization), it made the game beyond dull.  Leave it to shallow Nintendo fans to kill what sould've been great game (or at the very least, they hastened the point at which it lost it's luster).

Obviously, anyone who doesn't understand my point is guilty of said shallowness.  Congratulations, you're fucking boring.  When I've played Xbox Live, I didn't run into this kind of crap.  When those people are given a plethora of options, they seem to actually enjoy mixing things up when they play.  Give a Nintendo fanboy options, and he complains if he can't play the exact same boring way as the last several iterations of the current title.
