Some people include dashes, jabs is just clicking A to do strikes on the ground I couldn't find anything on google so.. Not that hard.... N = Neutral: just a standard button like just clicking a in the air or B. terms of vocab, nair. F = Forward: ftilt (a tilt is only moving your joyl stick slightly to the right so it isn't a smash.), fsmash, fair D = Down: dtilt, dair, dsmash U = Up: utilt, usmash, uair Dash Attack = Running and clicking A performs this. DI = Directional Influence, holding a control stick to the direction of the stage helps your character get back on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-t7pT4t-Hs&feature=related <--- This guy DIs back to the stage with Bowser. Laggy = Delay time, it's when there is a lot of delay in match, this is seen accompanied with online because online has a horrible amount of lag. SH = Short Hop, tap Y with a character that can jump, and they jump a smaller distance than a normal jump. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRht1NgMvGQ <---- This guy does an SHDL. DL= Double Laser Boost Smashing = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7Q2gfVEf0k on the right to understand what he did. Can also be referred to as Dash Attack Cancel or Lag canceled up smash. Haven't seen anyone abbreviate this... Auto Cancel = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyhnF4jZa_Y click info, there is a guide on it on smashboards, just look for it >.>. AT = Advanced Techniques, basically things like DI, Boost Smashing, and Auto Cancel. Sometimes stands for Assist Trophy (item). Tiers= It's a list of characters top to bottom, best to worst. All I can think of right now... |
DI is actually when you press a direction when hit to influence your launch trajectory. DI has no effect once launch has been calculated. Anything after that is all based on normal movement. Smash DI is when the stick is mashed to DI out of multi hit attacks such as Kirby's Vulcan Jab. It basically looks like a small warp to the side where as normal DI is just gradual. Smash DI has no effect on moves with actual launch, not all attacks are effected the same by DI. Sonics up throw for instance, is in no way affected by the opponents DI where as Dedede's forward throw is greatly influenced.
DI is a very crucial survival tool. Should add, the best DI to have is perpendicular to your current launch, towards the stage, and usually up as well unless vertically launched. If your going to go straight right, DI directly up. If your going to get launched at a 45% angle to the right, DI up and left. If your going to go straight up, DI directly left or right. DIing down is Taboo, if going up it will have 0 effect and if launched to the side that will only help you hit the blast line sooner.
WoW, me and Shea has a bad connection to begin with, and stages really do make a difference. I have the same exact problem with another friend who has asked my not to pick pretty stages due to increased lag. I even test the input lag of every match by either shielding and fox trotting forward to test the input delay. It is ALWAYS worse on Lylat then the other stages. I would actually have no qualms about using that stage as a counter pick against Shea's Luigi, but the lag on it just sucks.
I use Lylat as a counterpick quite often against certain characters. The background doesn't bother me at all.
