For me the clear frontrunner at the moment is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, that is the most fun and original game that i have played in a long time.

So far for me, Persona 4: The Golden ( Feb release EU), Soul Sacrifice and GRID 2. Though The Last of Us looks like it's going to wipe the floor with anything else this year. Also really enjoyed Guacamelee but don't see it being a GOTY contender unless the DLC turns out to be something truly special.

I think 3D Mario might give tlou a money for its money; just look at Galaxy 1 & 2 and Mario 64... And we gotta remember that Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 is releasing this year...

Is there a 3D Mario this year? I wouldn't have expected one before 2014. Though mentioning Nintendo, Pikmin 3 could well be in the running for me as I utterly love Pikmin 1 and 2!

I wish that Luigi's Mansion 2 would be considered, but it won't. Kinda expect something pretentious like last years walking-simulator will win again

They're showing Mario in playable form at e3 this year, so I hope it's coming out this year!!

GTA V will probably wind up being a real contender. Beyond: Two Souls and The Walking Dead: Season 2 might also be contenders, but considering their more minimalistic gameplay, their chances will likely rest on the strength of their respective stories/characters. The folks at Telltale can definitely pull that off, but I'm a little less certain about David Cage and Quantic Dream. It's rare for a sequel of a GoTY contender to be GoTY material, especially if it releases just a year later.

I think it's between Infinite and Last of Us at the moment, and Beyond and GTA5 when they come out, as people have been saying. But many people seem to be forgetting Watch Dogs, which is still set for this year.


It seems like everyone is forgetting about Batman: Arkham Origins. It comes out in October. 

It's not being made by Rocksteady, so I have minimal interest, and I doubt it'll be anywhere near as good as the first two Arkham games.
