Can someone explain eSRAM and why it's so important all of a sudden?

Because it helps deal with the latency issues - it doesn't matter how fast you can drive your car if the roads aren't open yet.  (Unless there are little side detours to keep you moving.)

It thought that the latency of the GDDR5 memory of the PS4 might mean the Xbox One, in effect, will have a slightly more powerful CPU.  So the PS4 can make a prettier picture, but not as many as quickly. (But this is all theoretical at this point.)

Here is an article on it if you want to read it:  http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/?d=qa&f=gpu_mem_latency&l=jp&a=

Also, this rumor is from last fall - it isn't anything new.  Other than how many people on this site just want a certain company to fail.  It's kinda of a sad statement about them.

Anyway, less than a week to E3! Nothing can bum me out!

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

every single internet forum is a place for idiotic fanboys and it doesn't matter what that forum is about - be it games, be it pc hardware, or cars or even cooking forums

what is important is ignoring the ridiculous ones and not to answer these people, as all it does is giving them more incentive to talk and "shutting them up" with some sort of evidence based argumentation is nothing more than a pipe dream

concerning this particular rumor I think it's interesting that thuway and proelite were confirming hearing of these yield problems, as in the very limited time I spent on neogaf I had the impression both of them were positive for and regularly arguing in favor of the new xbox

Well this would mean Xbone might come in closer in performance to Wii U, which then makes PS4 the overpowered outlier and hence if 3rd parties start showing WiiU some love it means PS4 power gets underutilized by 3rd parties on multiplat titles. Unless of course PC is the primary dev platform in which case the devs will port to PS4 with a small to moderate downgrade, and then further downgrade to WiiU/Xbone level performance.

It still really comes down to whose exclusive library you prefer. And if MS is buying up some 3rd party exclusives it means they'll be looking for those exclusives to really deliver.

Reliability is a something on which MS can't afford to fall down. You can't release 2 systems in a row with a high failure rate and expect to sell big numbers. So powering down a bit to ensure low failure rates is totally worth the trade off.

That has nothing to do with power. Even if the performance was cut to half it wouldn't mean anything for the  Wİi U. The architectures are completely different. This will just mean decreased resolution and lower performance for the 3rd party games (if true, of course).

If the downgrade to 0.9TF is true, does that mean the PS4 is two Xbones duct-taped together?

No, Xbox One is 2 PS4's duct-taped together. It seems you forgot the cloud.

haha xD if this is true i will be even happier when i purchase my PS4 June 2014

Talking smack with two fanbases at the same time on your first day - you are either very confident or just insane

You make it seem like Sony does not have any plans to use a cloud service to enhance the PS4 like Microsoft has planned out. Well sorry to dissapoint but a cloud can not bring power to a system like hardware does, and do not forget that this cloud Microsoft has working will only benefit those with strong internet connections which is only a fraction of the future buyers of the xbone one. If a developer puts to much weight on the cloud that means gamers with bad internet connections will be playing a terrible and choppy version of the game compared to what a strong hardware structure can provide.

sorry i didnt know how to quote, now i do :)
