Forums - Gaming - XBONE having problems with eSRAM yield. Crazy Buttocks confirms.

Lol. Third time curse might be true for microsoft. N64, ps3 and xbox one.

I'm no tech expert, but doesn't the X1 have more advantages over the Wii U than just GPU speeds?

Of course. Better CPU, better GPU, more ram, faster ram, esram is same (although probably with lower bandwidth), SHAPE-audio-chip most probably more capable than WiiU-solution, especially because of the total sound-processing-offloading to SHAPE...

I said it before and I'll sayit again: Sony just has superior engineers which results in better hardware. It really shows the lack of experience from Microsoft. It doesn't help if you throw endless amounts of money at the development. You just need the know-how to build a hich quality console.

That said, you'll still have fun with an Xbox One. If those rumours are true, it will be 720p @ 30f fps while PS4 will run games at 1080p with either more details/effects or 60 fps. But in the end, gameplay isn't affected at all. There will be no PS4 game that wouldn't be possible on Xbox One. It's just eye candy. Even with low specs, Microsoft can still win Next-Gen. It all comes down to games, not hardware power. So it's best we just wait for E3. IF Microsoft has some Megaton, people will forget rather quickly about lower specs.

I do think that maybe the rumor about low yields still may be true since the thing is packing a huge ~350-400mm apu which houses the cpu/gpu and esram which is even bigger than a gtx 680 which has a die of about 294mm. And now that I think about it that may be the reason for a potential downclock due to needing better yields so they could guarantee a 2013 launch.

All previous rumours about the Xbox One became true, I'm gonna go ahead and believe this one is correct too.

How much further can you downgrade the graphics though. People are already complaining about the lack of BIG graphical leap for next gen. Will people buy a next gen Xbox that has visuals on par (according to the eye test) with the 360. Then Xbox One would be a new 360 with more ram and TV stuff

Hahaha, what are you talking about? Please, if you don't know technique, don't talk about it. Even if the power is cut to half it will still have much better graphics than 360. Some people...

What are you talking about? I am talking about the average consumer

The same ones who have already said after PS4 reveal and then the Xbox One reveal (what little they showed game wise) has already stated they don't think the graphics look much better.

They aren't like you or I... or others on this site. We are talking about the people who think next gen is only about graphics. The same people who read the title of an article and not the article itself. The type of person who are told something from a friend and think it's truth. The same people who vote for someone based on an 15 second ad on TV that is twisted truth at best.

The eye test and what the title of an article says is about all the use to determine something. You think companies spend the money on focus groups in order to determine what words to say and not say for fun?

My point is that most of the consumers aren't well informed and take only a few seconds to form an opinion.

That impression of yours is correct, based on the specs mentioned from various sources the X1's CPU and GPU have significantly more processing units than the WiiU's parts, which is why even at even clocks it would be a way more capable machine.

Well, IIRC, this would be in line with what Charlie (SemiAccurate) reported last year on them having really bad yields.

If true, and they cut back to 800-900GFLOPS, that would make XOne some 5-6x 360, instead of 8x that MS said it is. Practically, that would lower 7770 equivalent GPU to less than 7750.

I really hope this is not true...

So, who is Matt on NeoGaf?

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
