And not woory about? And after the threyears? what a terrible attitude to have.

It's a small price to pay if you want something at launch.

My RROD happened almost in It's second year and I had a refurb afterwords. I ended up getting the slim a few years ago, it worked out well for me.

Either way I severely doubt MS is stupid enough to have another RROD fiasco.

If this is "working out well" I don't know what would be a bad experience be. I still use my old console, 3 hours a day minimum ( there are other people in the house). It is 5 years old. No signs of failure.

Sounds like nothing is going accordin to plan over at Microsoft. So to sum it up
-Yield issues due to heat problems w/ ESRAM
-Started R&D very late, much later than Sony
-Change in leadership apparently didn't work very well
-Entertainment focus forced them to lock-in 8GB DDR3 early which also forced them to use ESRAM to make up for the RAM disadvantage
-GPU might be underclocked to try and improve yields
-Development tools aren't very mature either, they are behind Sony
-6 Months behind schedule
-PS4 reveal + 8GB GDDR5 caught them off-guard.
-Reveal UI/OS wasn't real-time. It was faked.

As a tech enthusiast, who would be excited for an Xbox One right now? If given a choice, I think most would pick the PS4.

None of them matters. There is a secret sauce. The cloud.

How many times have you mentioned the cloud in this thread? Enough already.

What was your longest periode without internet in the last 2 years?? How long it stayed offline?

Would you die if you couldn´t play a game for 2 or 3 hours?

Can´t you watch TV or read a book when internet is down?

Just asking...

Some people don't have access to internet even here in America. Maybe they have their Xbox in their room which is out of range from the router. Maybe they have it in the garage. Then there's those in forein countries who might not have internet at all.

so...uh what does this mean?

There are 3 scenarios here:

1. Leave things as they are and hope yields improve over time. This means very limited supply at launch though. Would most likely lead to a US-only launch this year.

2. Downclock the esram or gpu, maybe even both, in order to improve yields and go ahead as planned.

3. Delay the launch until 2014 until MS has their shit together. This would give them a good amount of supply + low failure rate + more time to plan thing.

From a consumers perspective I would choose #3. From Microsofts perspective I would choose #2. Microsoft is in a really bad position right now.

Can you show me where its taken over the media, ive literally seen nothing about either console on TV of Papers, On the internet ive seen very few positive articles. I just dont get where your seeing this media take over. Outside of forums I see 90% negative articles on things like gi.biz, ign, eurogamer and so on.

I guess some peope see want they want to see, could be me, could be you... could be both of us.

I think it's you.  Especially if you can't provide several examples.

It doesn't matter at all. MS is not after gamer's money, they are after advertiser's money. There is a lot more money in advertising than in gaming. For every gamer, there are at least 10 couch potatoes watching tv. If MS can get them to buy a trojan horse, they have already won in that department. It is of no relevance that every 3rd party game will run (slightly?) better on the PS4 than on the XBox One. Advertising and money hatting $$$ will completely cover that problem, as usual.

The yield rumours are from last year on semi-accurate and given the size of the chip should come as no surprise. As for the underclocking of the GPU, this post on Gaf has one theory:

Don't know enough about chip development to know if this is true but it'll be interesting to find out if it's true or not.

I just can confirme that I never saw a 32MB eSRAM used for cache too... the rest seems theorical possible.
