There are 3 scenarios here:

1. Leave things as they are and hope yields improve over time. This means very limited supply at launch though. Would most likely lead to a US-only launch this year.

2. Downclock the esram or gpu, maybe even both, in order to improve yields and go ahead as planned.

3. Delay the launch until 2014 until MS has their shit together. This would give them a good amount of supply + low failure rate + more time to plan thing.

From a consumers perspective I would choose #3. From Microsofts perspective I would choose #2. Microsoft is in a really bad position right now.
