For 'normal' games, 60€ is the absolute maximum. In some very rare cases I might, just might, pay more for a collector's edition or something, but these days, that seems very unlikely when pretty much all you get for paying that extra is some ridiculous DLC, like multiplayer costumes. Oh, and even that 60€ is stretching it. Right now I can rarely afford even that, and even if I could afford it more often, I wouldn't want to because games are worse and worse and they more more associated costs (DLC) than ever.

Back in the late 80'-early 90's, the Canadian dollar was only worth about 70 cents of on U.S. dollar, and weak in general. Games were the biggest hit in extra cost for some reason (still seems shadey, like retailers were jacking up the price). They were routinely 70-80$. Double Dragon on NES was 99$. I bought on a trip to the U.S. for 40$. I paid 120$ plus 14% sales tax for Phantasy Star 2 on the Genesis. I'm still willing to pay more, but I'd be buying fewer games.

It took a while for Canada to equalize game costs with the U.S. Probably about 2005. I paid 90$ for Blood Omen 2 on the Xbox. And that was in 2002.

£40 is my limit, which is the common price of new games in the UK. I wouldn't be willing to pay more next gen than what I'm paying now.

I'll pay up to £50 on a game at the moment the average is £40 on most games

Retail will go up to 70.. Digital will stay at 60 so they can ass rape you with their DRM while you are watching it happen in the mirror..
Anyway i would pay up to 80 if the quality remained.. Still better entertainment then a movie ticket, sport or music event.. Heck its cheaper then a night drinking with the way I drink..

Right after the PS4 reveal it was announced that $60 will be the highest priced PS4 game, so the same should be the same for Xbox One. Prices won't increase this gen.

"Games for the newly revealed PlayStation 4 will be priced between $0.99 and $60, Sony Computer Entertainment America president Jack Tretton told CNBC."

About 40€ max is what I am willing to buy. 30€ is what I consider normal. And for old games 15€ is impulse buy territory.

$70 and that is only for games I'm looking forward to for a long time. Otherwise I find $60 already too much for games.

With the drama of used games and their incompatibility, I wouldn't be surprised if prices stayed the same or even dropped.

Unless, of course, the consumers are stupid and end up driving the price up even more by biting the bullet and buying the new games, in which case, I'll have to find a less expensive hobby.
