that would be so stupid for M$ to do. But considering how stupid are the things they are doing lately it would not be surprising.

I bet it will just be a CGI teaser; and they will say it is real-time.

Really? This is what you are able to put out when you think of Halo 5? This is one of the bad posts... Why would it be stupid? Ah yes, because MS does stupid things by now and $ony doesn't? Well, that's a good argument.

And I think after Sony's render-target-disaster everybody in the industry knows that cgi-teasers aren't the best way to show games. Btw, do you remember when MS showed a Halo as cgi which had nothing to do with the game?

It is stupid, because it is too soon.   It is a flagship franchise that actually requires 2-3 years in order to be done properly; and even more considering they are going nextgen.   And also, it is too obvious for M$ to do this; considering how this gen went regarding M$ (sequels, sequels, sequels and more sequels)    people, gamers, media want new experiences at this E3.   If they do it it will be received very baldy.

It won't get released soon but what is wrong about showing it? And please leave out this crap (sequels) as you know that this is not entirely right and also applies to $ony. If you want to be taken serious in discussions, don't do this, it will automatically put your post in the bad corner.

I also doubt Halo 5, whatever they will show, will be received badly - Halo never failed until now.

Remember, people wanted GT6 to come to PS4 - why? Because it is their major ip, so is Halo for MS. $ony chose to keep their plan (two GTs per console), MS decides to do different. I also remember that many people also said Halo 4 would fail and it turned out it didn't in any way saleswise.

Hmm I hope for a spinoff a la halo wars 2 instead of Halo 5. Although they announce a mainline halo game always two years in advance.

If only...

I have been saying for a while I expect some sort of Halo game. The most likely thing is a teaser for Halo 5 in 2014 along with Halo 2 HD.

The other main possibility, along with those 2,  is an ODST style release of a new campaign, with the same multiplayer so people can keep playing Halo MP on their new console

HALO needs to take a break.. Great franchise but M$ has been releasing a HALO game every year, these last few yrs. M$ doesnt need to milk HALO... give people a chance to miss it.

Still Halo 4 sells surprisingly good and we don't know when Halo 5 will release. And also keep in mind that COD also releases every year and it outsells every exclusive on ps3 and 360...

True, but that doesnt change the fact that those franchises r being "milked"... COD & AC  are great examples..  I stopped getting thm after the 2nd one.. just saying that sometimes taking a break from a franchise may b better for the franchise in the long run..  it prevents people from growing fatigued..  IMO HALO needs  a long break.

It would be AMAZING if it was a launch game and I'd have to get the Xbox 1 on day one if it was. However I doubt they'd release Halo 5 so soon. They might just show a short trailer for it at E3 but it will probably release in late 2014 or 2015.

Halo is going to have (and has had) yearly releases. 343 has two teams so each team gets about two years of development time per game. As long as they keep the quality up (which they have) then it's perfectly fine to do yearly releases. Properly done yearly releases (like COD) mean more sales, better brand recognition, more money, and happier fans.

Call me a cynic but I really wish Microsoft would lay off Halo and Gears for awhile, and I actually like those franchises. They don't put my hopes up for the system as a whole anymore because they keep pumping them out like candy every few years. Let them rest for a little while in favor of some new IPs.

Perhaps a teaser. But not much more than that.

I am surprised - who forces you to buy the games? As long as the games sell (leave aside judgment, this was really bad) MS is right.

Not surprise cause simple games like this are easy to develop and keep earning its fans $$ every once a year...
