wii u... awful numbers...
i think 3ds with more than 50k sales is really good.... if it trail like this for the next few weeks in japan im pretty sure it would regurgitate wii u's drought

Both have their reasons for why they could sell better than the other. At the end of the day I am still surprised they are on par. I honestly expected the WiiU version to sell a bit better. Doesn't it have exclusive content? |
Not that I know of, unless Japan got a special deal. You can manage inventory on the pad screen and it supports off-tv but on the other hand they apparently messed up movement controls and the framerate...And don't ask me how you can screw up the movement!

SMT4 sub 200k but still excellent opening for the series! It pushed the 3DS nicely as well. I like seeing medium size developers like Atlus grow and do well. Looking forward to Persona 5.
Vita's up too, Valhalla Knights 3 seemed to be around 10k digital sales but it could turn out to be 20k by now since MAQL reported 65k sales a couple days ago, and judging from Famitsu's sell through meter. Looks like I might need to adjust my estimation model up again for digital PSN/Vita sales.
Resident Evil feels like it only did mediocre. Wii U > 360 only in Japan! Although it's a shame RE couldn't sell enough to prevent another hardware drop for it... E3! I'll be there.

Wii U does have same-day digital distribution, so that could be a factor. Apparently a lot of people bought MH3 digitally.

With almost twice the install base, 360 should have outsold Wii U by double. This is acutally a good result for Wii U, or a bad result for 360. The Wii U RE: Revelations attach rate is almost the same as the attach rate for PS3. I would say that is a good indicator that people will by third party content on Wii U in a similar way thtat they will buy it on other platforms when content is good and released same day, same price. At least in Japan. |
The PS3 attach rate is 22.4% higher. Even more if we use Famitsu numbers. Considering the PS3 had another game that sold even more this week, while the Wii U had no other software sell more than 2,612 units, I'm not seeing the good indicator. I know you don't want to admit that new systems are expected to have higher attach rates for individual games, but that's the reality.
Waiting for Famitsu hardware numbers, they seemed to differ quite a lot for a few weeks now, specially in case of Vita.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!
Wow, those are terrible Wii U numbers. But SMT IV had a good opening, as with Kamen Rider!

I checked and you are right. The WiiU version just has exclusive features due to the gamepad.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

So WiiU version could be much higher than the 360 version, like I thought it would.
I don't think 360 does same day DD. I am pretty sure PS3 does though.
