I wonder what's going on internally.

Pretty sure those are overestimates too eh? Want people to stay positive.

I feel like square is bullshitting

Didnt it take Santa Monica Studios like 3 months to get the GOW collection in HD?

They're actually remaking textures and changing lighting.  Not saying it should take more than a year.  God of War is just a straight port.

I'm not sure that's a really wise business decision. The main appeal of the HD version is to be able to replay the games on new hardware with slightly better visuals.  I don't think the fact they improved textures and lighting will bring in that much more buyers.

Who knows who made that decision.  Best case scenario is that they already had the textures when they were making the game and are just putting them in.  Lighting shouldn't be too much of an issue.  It really depends how these games are ported.  I'd personally love an actual remake.  They're spending the time anyways, Luca can use a complete revamp.

A full-on remake? Fuck that. I don't trust SE to do anything that extensive in a timely manner anymore--and I worry about what they'd do to the game with a fresh start. I don't want them to go any further than this.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

Modelisation was slightly improved on character too, according to my graphist

I guess this is why their new policy is to crack down on bloated development times. As a company, they have had Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider, Thief and Versus all stuck in development hell for ages. Sleeping Dogs and Tomb Raider have come out, but apparently didn't sell enough to justify their long developments.

Anyway, given that "Lightning Returns - Final Fantasy XIII" is scheduled to come out this year, they should all be out this year right as the new non-backwards compatible consoles come out.... Great job Square Enix!

They seriously need to sort themselves out, but once they tell us what we are excited about for E3, then things might be clearer
