This same kind of thought is also why I made the choice not to buy a 360 this gen, though I was close, in fact if it wasn't for RROD, my disappointment in Halo 3, and the rise of CoD; I might have. Gen 7 was the first gen I started to care about what goes on in the industry and what the companies are doing.

No, absolutely rational, I will never in my life support these anti-consumer business practices, if Sony implements them too, I will never buy one and stick to my Nintendo consoles and the Vita and maybe even start on the PC !

I've thought about it. If a $99 Xbox 360 walked my way I might bite for a few exclusives, that is if it has a disk drive. I won't pay for XBL, and after the X1 reveal I might not want to spend any money towards the company at all.

You should. All three consoles last gen had their things (owning the three would be the optimal, but of course!), and since you own a Ps3 you don't need to play in XBL. You can also pick some arcade and indie gems in Xbox Live Arcade, and then there's the exclusives, of course.
