Forums - Gaming - Adrian Chmielarz (Bulletstorm Dev) On Xbox One Reveal: “I Don’t Think Anyone from Sony Lost Any Sleep”

I wasn't responding to the OP.... im pretty sure I quoted who I responded to.  I was actually responding to a string of posts from this particular user as it seems this person refuses to accept that there are any issues with the Xbox One.  I never said the Xbox One wouldn't have any games, I am actually looking forward to what Microsoft has in store because I am almost positive that they will secure some exclusives and be creating more in-house that will convince many people on the fence, including myself, to purchase their system despite the drawbacks.  So quick to respond, you need to calm down and think before you post, otherwise you make yourself look foolish, as you just did.  Good day.

How did I make myself look foolish. You respond to a post where a user says that the OP article can be spun by saying he's in damage control, I respond by saying you're wrong.

Nothing foolish there, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Well that was nothing new. He still sounds like someone on the outside of what's really happening, so his "insight" is about as enlightening as Joe Fanboy.

"He does make sense though. During their PS4 reveal back in February, Sony showed off a plethora of exclusives in Killzone Shadow Fall, Knack and inFamous Second Son. The games were missing during Microsoft’s showing and Sony probably has more to gain since they haven’t showed off the console till now."

So 3 games is now considered "a plethora"? I don't know if this is hyperbole or ignorance of the English language. MS said there will be FIFTEEN exclusive games released in the first year. FIF. TEEN. If they gave each of those games just 3-4 minutes at their E3 presser, it'd take up a whole hour just for them. The lack of patience that people are displaying is feeling more like them getting their shots in while they can. E3 first. Then let's talk.

..... How in any universe can that article be spun the other way?  That's why I responded the way I did, hence the reason why I said you simply made yourself look foolish... wtf is going on here?

This guys is either retarded or has an agenda. I suspect a little bit of both since he is an indie developer now and we all know they have issues with Microsofts self publishing limitations.

Sony will have to demo games as well talk about hardware at e3 since they really didn't cover either topic very well at their conference.

Microsoft has done a bang up job at the conference and all of the press coverage afterwards in detailing hardware. At e3 they can talk about games and explain hardware specific gameplay since we all know what the hardware is and what Kinect can do.

Then at e3 when MS puts all focus on games and Sony spend time revealing the console, what will xbox-haters say?

You guessed it, they will spin it their way.

he's right..

prior to the reveal i was actually worried that MS was going to do something really cool and innovative and really run away with the console market. now seeing it i can confidently say MS didn't have really any innovation that hasn't already been mentioned for the ps4.

everything i'm reading makes the ps4 and xbone really, really similar. a low power state, game pausing for quick reboot, video chat, mult-tasking, social features, voice inputs, gamer recognition, cloud, recording of gameplay videos, remote play, so on and so forth.

so basically, so far there are no real stand out advantages for MS this gen. certainly no 1-year head start and probably no price advantage either.

the real distinction will be in first party games.

..as a sony gamer i feel quite confident that while sony probably won't dominate the market they also won't get dominated. that's good enough for me.

Hardly interesting, all can be spun vice-versa.

Why are xbox fanboys so delusional?  I for one hope that the XOne succeeds so there can continue to be some healthy competition in the industry, but to continue to post and act as though Microsoft has done no wrong is plain and simple denial.  I get that there are several of you who are on full damage control duties, but it is much easier to interact with xbox fans who can accept the weaknesses of their preferred platform instead of searching for every little thing and way they can to defend their chosen platform.  Wake up.

The true weaknesses of the XBox One have nothing to do with this article. This article points to the reveal not showing any games, but that doesn't mean the One won't have any games...

Sometimes I wonder if gamers really are so stupid to think that. Either way, E3 will tell you if the system has a weakness.

Now, all we know is that MS is pushing the system as an all-in-one entertainment box. Its true weaknesses come in the form of certain policies and poor relationships with indies, but that was nowhere in OP.

@bolded - I was going to say that.

I don't understand why the rage about not showing games, the even was for them to reveal the console and it's capabilities, functions and what it looks like and E3 will be there for the reveal of games... is that so hard?

Is intelligence sucked away from gamers the more they play? Please tell me what games you guys play so I stay far away from them!

that's sort of irrelavant.  over the last few years MS has earned a reputation for not caring about the 'core' gamer.   they started the xbox guns a blazing with exclusive content and then it dried up and many of their exclusives went multiplat.  while sony kept firing with more and more exclusive MS put out kinect and facebook and bunch of other service oriented crap most 'cores' didn't care for.

so the problem isn't that xbox won't play games.  the problem is that the message they've given re-enforces their image of think of the gamer as secondary to everything else.  marketing and image is very important to whom a product sells to.

Well I guess the simple answer would be that giving a reason for not showing many games and sticking with TV stuff mostly doesn't make the conference any less boring to watch, it's just the reason it was so boring.  You're correct that not showing games at their conference is not a good reason to damn the platform in general, but it's a pretty good reason to damn the conference.

I've been playing Time and Eternity and Civilization 5 mostly.  Just so ya know.

The fact that they introduced the date of the console reveal with the phrase "future of gaming" would indicate that more than a few of us were interested in some, you know, games.  I know their plan was to unveil the console and discuss its features, but they could've shown a little more of what the next-gen has in store for us, rather than showing a bunch of cgi and announcing a couple of exclusives.  It was a huge letdown for every core gamer hoping to see at least a few titles in action.  We know that they plan on showing more at E3, but that doesn't even come close to satisfying the intense curiosity we have RIGHT NOW.  I'm sure the next thing someone will say is "grow up and exercise some patience", but even Microsoft said they'd be showing a couple games, and everyone expected that to include some gameplay or at the very least, one live demonstration such as the one Sony's reveal included.  I also believe I stated several times that I am excited to see what Microsoft has up its sleeves because I am almost positive its going to be amazing, but I guess that doesn't seem to matter either.  Just can't seem to win with you guys today.
