EU will shit all over this.

MS would not design a device they can't sell in Europe. It's a huge market, and one they know they need to get stronger in.

We don't have all the facts yet. People are jumping the gun

I don't know all the different cultures in europe, but from what I saw in belgium and france, we like to poop on any MS device.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

updated the OP, since Ilse Aigner, the consumer protection minister in germany jumped the boat.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

They should call it Kreuz Knochen (cross bone) so it seems German that would be okay I guess.

I mean the government has it's own BundesTrojaner (Federal Trojan) used by the government to spy on people (funny thing is the BundesTrojaner was made by a third party that used illegal methods. (of course the government had no idea......... lol.....)

Well, i did say Microsoft would not get away with it in europe, and they wont.

note that the original statement from Aigner will be printed in a magazine, which comes out weekly in a run of ~500,000 copies.

Good reaction by German gov. officials. Next step ban xbox one or force them to sell xbox one without kinect. Nobody wants a surveillance device at their home.

I guess Germany is about a week late to the party.. But anyhow hop on.

Reminds me of the people who were hoping 360 wouldn't be sold in Germany because of some patents.

Prediction: You'll be able to buy a Xbox One during launch in Germany.

i think it's interesting that nobody said something about the first kinect where you have options to agree or disagree to some stuff but they think kinect 2 will be different.

why do people think kinect on 360 has options like "do you want us to allow to use your voice commands to enhance the service, your personal data won't be send and the stuff we need will be encrypted but you can still opt out completely" but kinect 2 would force us to send our personal data to microsoft?

because of some patents which sony and other companies also have? yeah sure...
