Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I'm sure he did and I'm sure he has the same question I have:
When the guy yelled "ESPN" at the Kinect2 micro, who is telling the cable box to switch to ESPN?

Well it probably staged so their is no fuck ups but the way it will work in your housr is the xbox will talk to the peripheral ( which is coded according to what cable box you use) and the peripheral will talk to your cable box. The peripheral is there because there is to many different cable providers using different sort of coding for their devices I wouldn't be surprise if it's the cable providers that actually sell the extra peripheral for Microsoft

This isn't going to take off in the U.S. as much as people think it will.

That's my whole point. The "staging" was probably only the "Kinect2 signalling device" in the pocket of the guy that he used shortly before yelling. What I don't like in this whole event is the fact that MS touted the "One" in XBox One in the presentation as the only thing you need from now, convienently "forgetting" you still NEED the cable box and you also NEED a device to send transposed code from the XBox One to whatever cable box you have (good luck if you bought it from JoesWee(a)klyDeals.com). They also "forgot" to show the external power brick (probably larger and heavier than the old 360 one) you NEED.

Yup only the major Cable companies will be supported by this and that thing is gong to be so inconveniant to use I don't think many people will. IMO they are just waisting money

I read it. Source that the extra device doesn't simply mean your cable box, assuming it is a "supported" cable box with HDMI out? That's what it reads like to me.
| pezus said: Wasn't Xbox One supposed to unify all of this? Only in America was expected, but still isn't good. The features of this console look almost exclusively designed for that market. And yet they expect 1B next gen console sales. America only has 315m people ![]() |
I don't know, I think it seems legit.
For one, in ten years America's population will be like 350 million and when you add in illegals it will be 400 total. Then every household will have an average of 3-4 X1's which will probably total 400 million in the US alone. Then you add in replacements and you're sitting pretty at about 450 million for the US alone. By this time the advertised features should work decently with most of Europe, Canada, Australia, and maybe Mexico. Little American alone will have probably 150 million X1's sold bringing that total up to 550 million and the rest of europe will go crazy over exclusive FIFA content so they will add another easy 300 million for a total of 850 million. After that Canada, Mexico and Australia will probably manage 75 million and another 50 million should come easily from the rest of the world since they will be coming along quite likely. The remaining 25 million will come from replacements WW.
Boom, there's your 1 billion.
