i think i read somewhere that DVR will not be a feature in Xbox One... do you have some kind of source were MS confirms Xbox One has DVR funcionality?

@op i have 500 Gb in my PS3 and i only have 63Gb of free space (no videos, or photos, only 8gbs for PS home, the rest is all games and demos, PS+ did a number on my Hdd)... note to self, delete demos and finished games... so my anwser is, not great but if you delete the games you have finished that don't have intentions of replay, 500 Gb will be enough IMO.

It has that "Game DVR" feature.. which works kinda like the game share function on the PS4. Sorry, should have made it clearer.

External hard drives are pretty cheap. Just another accessory to buy I suppose.

It's just that simple.

It really depends on how much of a gamer you are and how many games you plan on buying. But I doubt it will be enough if you have to fully install every game.

it will be enough for the "average" consumer but the "core" will need to buy externals or delete old games i'm 100% sure.  is say that confidently because  i still buy discs where i can and i've almost filled my 500 Gb drive on my ps3 anyways.

i don't really know the details, but if its like the PS4 share thing, it will not take hdd space, that "game DVR" data will be in RAM and only saved to hdd if requested by the user. unless they are going a different route and let you record the whole session in the background. that would put some extra work on the hdd and slow down the loading of game data and (relevant to this thread) take a lot of hdd space, to many details missing at this point. still both are possible.

still the external hdd option is in place to help people deal with this "no exchangeable" internal Hdd thing...

Remember Xbox 360 had only 20 gigs? Now its 250 gigs.

Well see a terrabyte HD in a few years np. Also, this thing supports external ones. So all good

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It will be enough for a year or two but after that it will not be a big enough harddrive.

At least we can hook up big harddrives (like a terabyte HDD) and use that so I guess it's not a huge deal. I just wonder if USB 3.0 allows for a fast enough data transfer.

It's gonna be a all digital world eventually. So Discs will be replaced with tons of Hard drives. So get use to buying more HDD in the future.

going by my steam folder, its plenty of space. I have a ton of pc games installed and I dont think i have his the 500 gig mark yet.

The 10 Biggest PC Games of All Time

To have the ten biggest PC games installed on a pc only takes 305 gigs. So I think there is plenty of space for most user.

the average gamer buys i believe 9. i think 500gb will be enough for most people, even for those who buy some more. they just have to delete a few games they don't play anymore but there will be obviously people like me who probably need a bigger one.

and i expect to see a console with a bigger one after a year or two. maybe 1tb
