500 GB HDD in PS3 is way more then I need (and I'm a fan of HDD versions).
So - no problem even with mandatory game installation on XBone.
PLUS USB 3.0 sound good enough for external storage.

Only lack of SSD options is a failure.

Yes I was hoping for a Dual boot SSD/HDD combo

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

No. It is not enough by a far shot. My steam folder is bigger and I don't even have all games installed. Now add videos and the stuff you recorded...

it depends on the user:

I guess the data next gen games will need will rise 3-5 times.
this means:500:3/500:5= if 100-167 gb were enough for you on the 360 than 500 should be enough on the xbox1

if you are a movie fan it would be too small as hdtv movies usually need lots of gb.

The average game should be around 25gb next gen, so yes. For now. Who installs 20 games? Some people go through a whole gen not even buying 20 games!! So for a majority of users, yes.

Seeing as this is a gaming website though and we'll all probably buy more than 20 games I voted yes for now.

Edit: Look at all the "no's"..... I'm betting most of those is just because it's Xbox. Prove me wrong and give me an answer.

All games have to be installed, you can no longer play from disk on the Xbone. Max Payne 3 this gen already is bigger than 25GB, more games will follow. Videos take up much space. Unless all of them are stored in the cloud your gameplay and TV recordings also will take up HDD space.

500GB are pretty easy to fill.

You're forgetting the live capture and DVR features of the new console. Also downloadable content.

Thanks for replying, I actually believed no one would, moving on...

You're right, but yeah.. I think video's and such will be streamed. That's already how the 360 works with many video's and apps. You connect to the server using the app and the content is streamed. I didn't know about Max Payne, at least it being that big anyway. Still, would you keep another, for arguments sake, 10-15 games installed including ones you never to barely play and restrict yourself from a new title? I certainly doubt it. I delete games on my 360 now that I no longer play and my 250gb HDD is not even half full.

It's enough unless you want to download every game, which very few will want to do anyway.

Yes but i thought all Disc games were installed and therefore same size as download games?

Most installs are comparatively small aren't they? If they were the same size as the whole game Uncharted 2 would be like 40gbs

We have a lot of DLC now, especially at the end of this gen. By the time the gen is over, you can buy external HDD's to plug into the USB 3.0 (which has been confirmed). I stand by my, "yes for now" answer. I also covered other things such as video in my other comment. Thanks for replying!

I don't think it is enough... I have a dedicated Western Digital Caviar Black 2Tb (That's 2,000Gb) that's chock-a-block full of just Steam Games on my PC and large portion of them are 10Gb and less each.

Plus, you would probably be doing more than just installing games, what about downloading DLC, Movies, TV shows, Music, Recording TV? 500Gb doesn't really go far especially with the push as a Multimedia device.

With that said, they also had to keep costs under control and 500Gb is probably due to budget constraints in a cost sensitive device as 1Tb drives are not that much more expensive.
