Forums - Microsoft - XboxONE full game installs? is a 500G hardrive enough

500G large enough for nex-gen

yes 14 9.52%

no 104 70.75%

yes, for now......but lar... 29 19.73%

Total:147

how do you all feel about the full game installs that are rumoured?

next-gen games are likely to be much more advanced than todays games.

what if many titles max out blurays with chocca full of content id say easily 10 - 15g+ per game could even be more on bigger titles and cinematic ones

for someone who plays a medium or a lot of games the 500g hardrive will fill up unless you have to uninstall/reinstall all the time

combined with all the downloading you will do and buffering do you not think it more appropriate to have a 1TB hardrive in nex-gen systems?

i predict next-gen systems to ship with larger hardrives further on down the line

Since it's irreplaceable I don't think it's enough. Games could easily hit 25+GB (larger textures and more cinematics at higher res) and I'm not willing to delete/re-install games all the time in the future. Even if you can already start the game while installing I'm still wondering whether they mean play any section of the game you want or not (using old save data).

However you can just plug-in an external Hard-Drive but then the question is what specs should it have in order to get the same loading speeds and performance. It's a bit of a drag to have so many different devices underneath your TV so I think they should have put in at least 1TB or made it possible to replace it yourself.

500GB is more than enough, besides you can use an external HDD.

well ive just been scanning on prices of external 1TB devices and they seem cheap, surely an internal 1TB would be cheaper still

Yeah but the problem is that you need an extra device. And I don't now whether a 2.5" without external power source will be fast enough through one port (I think there is only one at the back of the Xbox One)

It would be enough if it wasn't necessary to install the whole game to the HD. As it is, people will have to keep deleting stuff in order to install the next game.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

It's enough unless you want to download every game, which very few will want to do anyway.

Im sure M$ thought about this, 500gb is heaps most people wont have more than 5-6 games downloaded.

500 GB HDD in PS3 is way more then I need (and I'm a fan of HDD versions).
So - no problem even with mandatory game installation on XBone.
PLUS USB 3.0 sound good enough for external storage.

Only lack of SSD options is a failure.

Yes but i thought all Disc games were installed and therefore same size as download games?

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.
