Forums - Microsoft - why all the negative comments on the xbox one?

Because fanboys are a cowardly and superstitious lot ...

Alright, this is getting silly.

The reasons people are up in arms is because of all the reports coming from all sides of MS putting very anti-consumer friendly policies and requirements like kinect connection requirement, the alleged used game charge fee, 24-hour connection requirement and few more. Also, their disregard of the hardcore/dedicated user base was very disappointing. Yes, MS reported that most of their games will be unveiled at E3 but all they focused on the reveal, the FIRST IMPRESSION, was a cable box full of sports entertainment, that is apparently also a water cooler.

From a technical standpoint, the xbox one is a beast and will probably fight toe-to-toe with the PS4. It's just how they handled their reveal and their ludicrous requirements that was disastrous.

I don't get why people are scared of kinect being online all the time. It comes with the Xbox, unless some people think the government is watching everything you do.

Well, if it breaks due to malfunctions or the owners fault, essentially my xbox one will not work. From what I have read, the Xbox one does not work if Kinect is not hook-up so basically I would have to wait for repairs under warranty or buy a new device, which simply put, is some real bullshit.

Assuming my information is wrong and please feel free to correct me; FUCK.THAT.SHIT.

This.....If my kinect breaks and i cant use my console because of it.. That some Bull.. Aint nobody got time for that

Normally i would agree with that notion but i mean come on theyre making something so simple so difficult and unneccessary.. pretty much dictating what you can and cant do with a game you bought.. If i buy something it should be mine.. If i wanna give it to you for free i should have the right to do that..if i wanna sell it to this guy or girl for 30 dollars I should have the right to do that... In this case its not fanboys.. It is maybe but its also right from wrong.. its also not letting companies do whatever the hell they want because they know fanboys casuals and idiots will continue getting bent over and fucked at will by them.. Just my 2 cents

Almost everything about it so far looks horrible; too much multimedia focus, used game fees...

I haven't been this uninterested in a major home console since I started gaming.

sorry you are wrong. Media focus does not take away the awesome gaming features. It just makes the overall console more awesome. And no good game is worth buying used anyway. The way I see it, this console is for real gamers who support developers...as opposed to people like yourself.

Oh get over yourself, you pretentious gamer.

What about borrowing games from friends? What about that specific scenario? I like swapping games with friends so i can try them out for myself, cause not every one can afford $60 games right off the bat. I personally am subcribed to gamefly. Sometimes, I rent a game and beat it all the way. Others, i can't beat quickly enough but if good enough, i'll probably make the purchase. On either scenario, according to the CURRENT information, MS is all like "No, you have to give us money first. Soooorry" How can anybody, not as xbox or Sony fanboys, but as gamers support such a shit policy?

On the reveal, media focus LITERALLY took away from most gaming features, don't kid yourself. Granted, xbox one still has E3 and my guesses are, after watching all of this mess and dissapointing reactions, they will bring out every single gameand feature possible to reaffirm the xbox one as  primarily, a gaming console.

1)  In case you didn't know, it's a classic Batman quote.

2)  Can you do that with Shadow Complex now?  Journey?  Or how about Infinity Blade?  Mass Effect 3 bought off of Steam?

I think we all need to step back and not be so reactionary about things that MS representatives have stated aren't set in stone and/or they will have more information forthcoming.  It's bad look.
