Forums - Microsoft - why all the negative comments on the xbox one?

The only thing I find weird about is half the people yelling about how they hate it claim they love Steam.

When basically MS is just turning their console into a more highly featured Steam box

Yes! I've never heard someone say, "I love steam - but hate things that make us 'always on' internet connection. "

or "I am going to sell my used Steam games."

Or logging in so they can download a game.

My personal favorite is still, "Screw Micro$oft, I'm going to be a PC gamer." (cause Microsoft has nothing to do with Windows 7/8.)

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Sir, you make poor argument. Just because a console spends resources on non gaming features does NOT mean that the features spent on the gaming features will be insufficient to please you. You are being very premature about this entire situation. Also, you're a fan of the wii U so I know you're being biased. The Nextbox will likely have much more resources for gaming than the Wii U since its so technologically superior. So how is it that the Nextbox will not have enough gaming resources to please you but the Wii U does? Mommy....your bias is showing. The others may think youre a reasonable user but I see right through you, buddy.

I'm not ruling Xbox One out prematurely, I'm saying that so far it looks horrible to me.

Such strong multimedia focus suggests time and resources that could have been spent on gamers will be spent elsewhere.

I am not biased in the slightest. I criticised the hell out of the Wii U at its crappy conferences, just like I'm criticising the Xbox One now.

I don't much care which console is technologically superior, I care which one caters best to me as a gamer, and from what we've seen so far, Xbox One doesn't.

He's banned don't bother. Also, I totally agree with everything you said. Extra features are nice I suppose, but they completely dominated Microsofts reveal.

Yes! I've never heard someone say, "I love steam - but hate things that make us 'always on' internet connection. " (-> offline mode)

or "I am going to sell my used Steam games." (-> Pretty much no one buys games for the full price on Steam, cuz Steam Sales)

Or logging in so they can download a game.

Another interesting exchange with Rudisha. I look forward to hearing from him in the next 6 months,

It's early. Let's wait and see what the big green has to show at E3. This is reminding me of the PS3 hate that was brewing before the system launched, and look how it turned out - a great console. And people keep complaining at the hardware reveal (the keyword being hardware). Taking the whole picture into consideration, it was the best move to show what the system could do then in order to focus exclusively on software at E3. It is an ambitious box with a plethora of features, so it makes sense those aspects took up the majority of the show. If Microsoft showed too much yesterday then people would have complained about a 'weak' E3 showing. Let's wait till E3 at least. Some of these 'issues' may be addressed.

True PS3 got flak because of the same attitude they wanted to invade ur living room.. But that changed when they ditched all the gimicky features and turned into a proper Game console with PS3 Slim.. Weak MS E3 Conference? For crying out loud they have 15 exclusives. even if they properly showed two game which was revealed.. there would have been plenty of games left at E3 to show. And now MS are saying they have Big news for 360 as well.

True! TBH even Wii U has remote functionality to constroller ur TV but i learnt that just recently.. that is because Nintendo didnt emphasis on those things, and treated them as secondary features to games

when PS4 was revealed and people said PS4 is the way to go, and xbox fan said it pretty immature to make a decision until xbox is revealed. Now that its revealed with anti consumer policy, xbox fans are saying wait till E3.. Like if sony will just sit there!

MS had their chance and they blew it. Console reveals was about the hardware and what it could do to games that current gen cant..PS4 made it clear, Xbox made watching TV easier, which so hard in the first place..

At E3 it will be all about games from both side, No matter which side people choose, for now leading into E3 PS4 is the clear winner.

The reveal was just bad and all the flip flopping that creates more speculation isn't helping at all. Not to mention gamers like me, who doesn't live in NA would probably not get those TV services and functionality due to region restriction and copyright. That alone takes me out of the loop. :(

See now here is the issue.

Actually guys, Phil Harrison was corrected and told to shut up basically. I have a pretty out-there theory....

Remember before the Xbox ONE reveal? The negative rumors were everywhere.... Everywhere on the internet anyway, Average Joe knew nothing. What did MS do? Nothing. Hype going into the event? Huge! Media/Twitter/Internet in general coming out? Massive.

They're doing it again. Just a theory. Heard it here.
