Question: Fire Emblem has had a long lifetime. Do you get the feeling it gets harder to release a new episode every time?

Yamagami: No doubt. Truth be told, sales are dropping. The sales manager of Nintendo, Mr. Hatano, told us that this could be the last Fire Emblem. Due to this progressive descend on sales, they told us that if the sales of this episode stayed below 250,000 copies, we'd stop working on the saga. I remember when I came back from the meeting and told the team "My God, what are we gonna do?! The end has come!". Our reaction was clear: if this was going to be the last Fire Emblem, we had to put everything we always wanted to include. That's how this new project was born!

Im glad its selling well cuz its a great game and deserves to be a consistent million seller

now I want a real Fire Emblem for Wii U

well explains why they had stock issues of the game, they didn't WANT it to sell well lol.

That actually makes perfect sense, except they didn't EXPECT it to sell well. I am sure they wanted it to, lol. 

While this is good news, it scares me to think that one franchise I like won't ever come again because of low sales. Guess this is the gaming world :(

Did they mean like world-wide?

I mean it sold twice that in Japan alone lolz. Guess this franchise is safe for now. Advance Wars on the other hand....

Putting a full fledged one on a handheld at the perfect time really gave it a boost.

This will sell well above the mil if they give it the proper boost it needs in terms of ads and of course if they keep low shipments until holiday season
