Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo would have given up on Fire Emblem saga if Awakening did not sell over 250k.

I'd love to see a big budget Wii U version.

The gamepad screen contains your tactical bird's eye view map, while the television displays a fully 3D version of the battlefield at all times. Think of the battle scenes as they are in Awakening, but with a Wii U version you'd have that kind of display up permanently on the television, following the characters as you move them and flowing naturally into the battle scene. The battle scene isn't a separate event as it would be on 3DS, but a seamless continuation of the full television display of the battlefield. I think that'd be a really immersive and exciting way to play Fire Emblem.

Did they mean like world-wide?

I mean it sold twice that in Japan alone lolz. Guess this franchise is safe for now. Advance Wars on the other hand....

I'd love for Advance Wars to go the way of the eShop - $19.99 for a full fledged downloadable Advance Wars with future DLC? Sold. I can see though why it doesn't sell well as a retail release. Many people see the simple graphics and think it's not worth it. It just fits the download format perfectly (low dev costs, small file size, perfect for DLC, a game you want to always have on your system, ...)

OT: It looks like the fear of this being the last game made them pull all stops. The game is amazing and made me a huge fan of the franchise. I definitely want Awakening 2 and a Wii U version. The gamepad could actually enhance the experience for once. Just give us real multiplayer and online battles and improve the pairing system.

And if you move your unit pass an enemy, it gets a chance to free shot. i.e. zone of control.

Lesson learned: always make the games as great as you can as soon as you can. Don't wait till the boss says that it's the last one.
