I must say I didn't expect such high pre-orders.

300k already, should be on course for a minimum of 750k WW. I didn't expect anywhere near that and given it is a Naughty Dog game, it should be fantastic so should have good word of mouth sales

The one potential issue is that it is releasing in E3 week, that might take away a few sales for people who are more excited about next gen and have already moved on mentally, though that shouldn't be too big

Haha well what can i say it's a Naughty Dog game ! :D That and it's been advertised very good so far VGA's,E3, the walking dead tv spot and so forth...

I never doubted it would be good, but it is quite a hardcore title. Uncharted has lots of explosions, where as this is emotion driven... I guesss it does have zombie like things, people like zombies

It's not just about the infected (which are not zombies, by the way). It's about the buzz it received from the beginning and the fact that it's Naughty Dog.

I am well aware they are not zombies, though I have now decided how the game ends based on things in the Walking Dead

It has received fantastic buzz, I would personally never buy a game like this if it wasn't Naughty Dog. I just didn't expect that to lead to an easy million, I guess I am just pessimistic about the size of the hardcore gaming community

Oh man I'm so excited to play this. It releasing right around the time of E3 makes me even more excited for the upcoming weeks.

This is Sonys next killer app.

I think so too! :)

It will do almost 400k in pre-orders in US, make it 500k global (which is low-balling?) and I see at least 800K FW. LT=3.8m, won't have Uncharted legs.

It's doing amazing. But it's not gonna sell like Uncharted 3. Come on guys, be realistic.

This game is much much more interesting than any of Uncharted installments. So many Xbox/PC fans want play this so bad, they will even buy a PS3 just fot this game. The same people called Uncharted ,, boring overscripted game " , ,, meh, nobody " or whatever.

UPDATED: I seriously doubt it can sell much more than 1m or as high as 1.2m first week and 5m+ lifetime. It could JUST reach 1m week 1, will probably pass 4 million lifetime but it's extremely unlikely to hit 5 million without a ton of bundling.

The only reason the the Uncharted series sales range around 5m+ is due to mass bundling. Take away 500K from UC1, 1m from UC2 & 1.5m from UC3 (the level of mass bundling increased with every game) then with UC1 at 4.07m, UC2 at 5.17m & UC3 at 4.37m you have roughly how popular the games really are averaging 4.54m (don't get me wrong, still very popular). Please don't argue about this, just accept the truth and move on.

With GT6 coming out later this year I don't think TLoU will get much in the way of bundling other than a limited edition bundle for a few weeks/months. It will not have the same boost UC2 or UC3 had, that's for sure.

Looking at its US pre-orders, I think it should at least add another 100K and end up at 393K. Now add another 70K to that and you have 463K first week in the US. It will probably do less in Europe, perhaps around 350K+. In Japan it will do something like 37K, which totals 0.85m.

I forgot to take into account sales from 'Others', so it might actually have a chance at hitting 1m first week, if it can add 0.15m from others then it'll hit 1m, I think it will just, JUST, make it. If not it will come short by no more than 20K. By the end of this year it should pass 2.2m. In 2014 it will sell another 800K. In 2015 = 450k. 2016 = 150K. 2017 = 75K. Then maybe another 50K onwards.

Lifetime, I'm predicting it'll sell 3.73 million by itself in addition to it receiving +500K (4.23m) from UC1 level bundling, +1m (4.73m) from UC2 level bundling or +1.5m (5.23m) from UC3 level bundling. I think it'll only receive UC1 level bundling so 4.23m is my final prediction.

The same could be said for Forza and Halo

Let him be that guy is obsessed with bundles and uncharted, but what he doesn't realise is that he's very very wrong.

Well my friend i call this kind of people idiots! :DDD

Yes, I'm a huge Uncharted fan and I think The Last Of Us will be even better. BUT, let's admit it, this is a super-hardcore game and it's also a new franchise. Uncharted is more of a popcorn shooter with a cool protagonist and fun one-liners. I'm not saying Uncharted is appealing to the 40yr old WiiFit women, but to a kinda intermediate player, who maybe buys 3-4 games in a year like Halo, Assassins, Gran Turismo, CoD, etc. Easy to pick up and play and have fun.

The Last of Us will be much slower paced with more complex mechanics. Not the cup of tea of those "intermediate" players.

That's why I guess TLoU will have a huge selling release, becuase it's VERY anticipated by hardcore gamers, but the legs won't be nearly as good as Uncharted one's.

I'd be happy if I'm proved wrong though, TLoU will be my GOTY for sure

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

U can call them what u want. Everybody, PS fans, Xbox fans, even PC fans wanna to play this game ( Nintendo fans dont care ). The Last of US is new IP, it looks amazing, it has a very interesting, unique universe, to be honest, it looks like I am a Legend The Game. Ellie looks like a copy of Elizabeth, all this crafting, sneaking etc is just amazing while we see the flood of copy/paste FPS. Melee combat is freakin awesome, more over the game has the elements of horror, survival, multiplayer, blood, violence, guns - everything what we love.

TloU = Bioshock Infinite ( Elliezabeth, deep characters and bond between them) + Fallout ( crafting, world )+ I am a Legend ( ,, zombies" ) + Resident Evil ( dark, silent areas ) + Uncharted ( platfroming elements, combat ).  Just put a free roam in it and we have a GTA-level game.

Well said, this was pretty much my logic too + the fact that PS4 is coming
