well clearly MS didnt have much choice considering what they the amount of gaming content they had on display yesterday. So they had to give hardcore gamers something to look forward to E3.. its not really that hard to figure this all out

oh they had a choice. i hope their execs knew they would get shit upon with 45 minutes of tv talk.  all they had to do was make a 90 minute show with 2  - 15 minute gameplays and bam lol

What!!? Let me get this So u are saying talking about TV shows and its features for 45 min with no gameplay videos, with no info on hardware specs (cpu+gpu).. is better than a 90 minute show, where "Game" developers take the stage show off their  game  concept and their vision.. demonstrate the hardware capabilty and go indept about the spec...cool story bro!!

i thought we were comparing gaming console.. now it seems like PS4 is up against a DVR which can also play games.

you said they didnt have a choice but to put tell the gamers what they were bringing to the table.  i said they had a choice and that the show should have been 90 minutes.   stop being so defensive.  last time i check sony's show was 2 hrs so cleary i was talking about ms reveal alone

To be convinced about something doesn't make it truth. Just look at the One reveal and lots of things that people were convinced that wouldn't show up ended up being there.

Wait until Sony say something. Or Microsoft perhaps can drop the Live fee, that would be a huge plus.

Well, we still have people thinking Sony is going the same route as MS with used games when they already came out and stated otherwise.

I am convinced because:

#1.) They probably would have already mentioned it.

#2.) Considering the negative feedback on the X1 I don't see how they would kill their own momentum by implementing it.

Sony will play the waiting game. If (for some odd reason) this turns benefits to MS pockets then Sony will follow suit.

Sony also said that is "It's a publisher decision. We are not talking about it. Sorry.", so this means that Sony 1st party games won't have any sort of fee or blocking, but apparently there's nothing stopping 3rd parties for doing the same thing they are going to do with the Xbox One.

Nintendo and PC gamer

Another benefit is that Sony's E3 conference is after Microsoft's, so they should be prepared all guns blazing if they need to....or tone it back if required, defending how well the MS show is? Also pricing could be a battle too. If MS come in and say the Xbox One is gonna cost $399, then Sony if possible can place the PS4 @ $399 to match....it will be very very interesting...shame I will miss the Son y conference as I will be sleeping.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

Oh so MS choose to reveal the "game console" by showing TV functionality and no games? Game console reveal had always been about the gaming hardware and its capabitlity to play games! not skip over it and show rest of the stuff it can do.. and E3 is all about Games. and for DVR & stuff MS could have had a seprate event for that may be consumer electronics.. This is not the MS which launched 360.

lol definitely not the same MS that launched 360.  but i really dont see what the big deal.  ONE thing they said they would do they did.

"On Tuesday May 21st, we’ll mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment. On that day, we’ll be holding a special press event on the Xbox campus and we invite you to join us via the live global stream that will be available on Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE and broadcast on Spike TV if you are in the US or Canada.

On that day, we’ll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19-days later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, we’ll continue the conversation and showcase our full lineup of blockbuster games.

We are thrilled to pull back the curtain and reveal what we’ve been working on."

I know MS had already informed about what the impending announcment would be.. But thats my point what should xbox target demographic be hardcore gamers, who bought Alan wake, Halo, Crackdown, gears etc.. guys who fought with PS owners about system spec GPU and CPU Ram.. or the casual mainstream audience who would like to change the way they watch TV and interact with it? Maybe u just dont see it! it is a big deal that how MS shifted it focus to casual audience to be the priority over core gamers who made what xbox brand is today!

I have been saying this since yesterday! I am happy with the Xbox One, My issue is with MS, since the arrival of kinect MS has gone off track!

I was convinced about Microsoft listening to feedback and look how that payed off with the blocking used games thing xD

Well, I can't argue against that.

who says its Sony's call?

If Sony doesn't decide whether or not their own online service is free then who does?

the post i replied to was about used games.

You replied to my post, which was a conversation with Wright about Sony implementing an online fee.

You should clarify which part of a post you are responding to.
