Forums - Sony - Sony Aces up the sleeves

Yeah it does seem a bit daft to say that they have 15 exclusive games, 8 of which are new IP's releasing over the first year of the Xbox One's life....now that's anytime up until Xmas 2014....that's a long way off. I was surprised that they didn't mention how many Exclusive games will come out at launch???? Makes you wonder if it will only be Forza? So the rumours that the In-House Studios were some way off releasing their games may in fact be true.

So they may end up having to rely on multiplatform games as well as 1 or 2 exclusive games to launch their system?

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

We still don't know if Sony would go "online fee" though. Think of that before saying Sony's got full house.

I am still convinced that they won't go that route since they have PS+ to bring them in subscription revenue, not to mention it is a huge advantage against the X1.

Nothing makes a competitor look worse in my opinion that letting it be known that going into the next generation that they are still the only ones requiring you to pay to play your games online.

To be convinced about something doesn't make it truth. Just look at the One reveal and lots of things that people were convinced that wouldn't show up ended up being there.

Wait until Sony say something. Or Microsoft perhaps can drop the Live fee, that would be a huge plus.

Well, we still have people thinking Sony is going the same route as MS with used games when they already came out and stated otherwise.

I am convinced because:

#1.) They probably would have already mentioned it.

#2.) Considering the negative feedback on the X1 I don't see how they would kill their own momentum by implementing it.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

i think MS did a big mistake by telling their competition that they have 15 new titles in development.. Sony are just going to come out with even more number as they have two teams in almost every studio and are far ahead in terms of development..

MS are in the same exact position as Sony was in 2006. with no game footage to show and had to rely on CG footage..

i doubt sony cares or is going to change thier current stratgey cause MS say they have 15! sony has been known for bring out new titles over the whole life cycle of the ps3 and is still doing it to date tlou pupeeter etc so trust sony doesnt care

exactly why would you let an already aggresive competitor know what you have planned

well clearly MS didnt have much choice considering what they the amount of gaming content they had on display yesterday. So they had to give hardcore gamers something to look forward to E3.. its not really that hard to figure this all out

I m sure SONY have a strategy and they will stick to it .. But IMO Sony wont be that cocky to understimate what Xbox has to offer! after PS3. I m pretty sure even they were expecting something big from MS after they delayed their conference a month, and their counter act would have been according to that notion. But seeing how abmysal MS conference was, SONY sure would alter something to deliever that final blow to Xbox! and to aid that sony and general public have the idea how many games are there in development for X1 and according to that SONY will show their games at E3

I was convinced about Microsoft listening to feedback and look how that payed off with the blocking used games thing xD

To put it as simply as possible, MSs ace is Halo. Sonys is GT and Uncharted.

GT6 is on PS3, so that just leaves Uncharted as a possible ace. Sure we got a super awesome Halo tv series coming, but Halo 5 is still a bigger ace MS has yet to play.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Sony's ace? I want to buy a game disc, go home play it without any codes or internet installation required to my HDD and I'd like to let my friends borrow it.

Staggering to suggest these days (given I could do this on my 2600, NES, Genesis, SNES, PSX, N64, PS2, GC, XBox, Wii, PS3) but I think it can somehow be done.

oh they had a choice. i hope their execs knew they would get shit upon with 45 minutes of tv talk.  all they had to do was make a 90 minute show with 2  - 15 minute gameplays and bam lol

What!!? Let me get this So u are saying talking about TV shows and its features for 45 min with no gameplay videos, with no info on hardware specs (cpu+gpu).. is better than a 90 minute show, where "Game" developers take the stage show off their  game  concept and their vision.. demonstrate the hardware capabilty and go indept about the spec...cool story bro!!

i thought we were comparing gaming console.. now it seems like PS4 is up against a DVR which can also play games.
