sure, but major nelson said few days before the reveal that e3 will be about games and not the reveal. and since probably 90% of people who saw the reveal were men, it makes sense to show the stuff they want to see. i'm sure xbox one will be more  interesting for females as ps4, that's how it was this gen (in my opinion) and that's what i expect next gen.

but microsoft can show whatever they want, the internet will complain about it, that's how it is since i am in gaming forums. if they would have shown some kinect game for the whole family the hardcore gamers would complain that it's a casual machine.

I wouldn't say alpha. Everyone can sit and watch sports shamelessly cheering for some other guy. Getting extremely pissed off or over joyous at the turn of the events. Plus there is always beer mountain dew and doritos to market to the said crowd. 

Well I don't know about you but I don't need a football match to gather with friends around a console with a few beers. But is this in any way related to gamers ? I mean yeah, there are a lot of new types of gamers, but what they have in common is not their love of football, it's their love of games.

They're a LARGE audience (they make CoD the biggest shooter, propel the sports games to high numbers.)

and they don't really give a shit about console allegiance. They're pure mass is going to effect how the market moves.

I'd argue that's why Microsoft one the USA... AND why Sony won Europe. Fifa & Racing/ NFL & Shooters... are the key to winning the hardware race in Europe and the US.   Which is funny, because a lot of it is multiplatform.   But if all of your friends have FIFA on Playstation... you are buying a Playstation.  To play vs them.   Other games and hype follows from that.

Everything else can be done by lesser reveals through the enthusiast media... cause guys like us pay attention to that stuff.
