Can the Wii U play next gen titles? You decide.

yes

No. Not proven yet...Watch Dogs is not next gen and neither is Assassins Creed. The 720 and the PS4 are much, much more powerful. Thief and the Witcher 3 would be on the Wii U if they were next gen.

Everyone needs to stop making up their own definitions of "next-gen."

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

That's because there isn't a huge graphical leap like we've been used to for so many gens now, like I said there wouldn't be all along. And that's why the Wii U is in much better shape then the Nintendo haters want to admit. All Nintendo needs to do is get on top of the software, and Wii U will be able to compete fine with PS4/One. The One games shown today honestly looked no better than Wii U to me. PS4 games shown have looked slightly better than Wii U or One games, but still not by a landslide or anything.

Wii is aprox. 15x-20x less powerful than the 360 and PS3

Wii U is aprox. 5.5x-6x less powerful than the Xbox One and PS4

This doesn't mean the Wii U will get PS4 and Xbox One games, but it will be A LOT easier for devs to port their games. On Wii, devs had to make games from the ground up, this won't be the case for the Wii U.

Nintendo and PC gamer

Killzone Shadowfall definitely showed a huge leap. I'm pretty sure once these consoles get in the middle of their lifespans you'll see the leap.

Let me get this straight. IMO, MS and Sony head for different directions.
MS aims for living room entertainment all in one device, music, movie, games, web surfing. Xbox One is not a only gaming machine.
Meantime, Sony pushes further focus on core gaming experience, the PS4 conference is only about game and PS 4 powerhorse.
Let's wait and see who will win next-gen war.

BS: I like the Xbox One machine reveal in MS conference, and Sony's focus on core gaming in its conference.

What does a mermaid wear to math class?

An algae bra.

The WiiU would break if It tried to run KZ SF :P

Using the most blurry images, I'd say the fact that a next gen console can even comepete with maxed PC title says a lot.

Hit it right on the head, PS4 and Xbox One have just been announced and still have to stretch their legs, but it's already clear there's a definitive graphical jump between 7th and 8th gen.

There's a HUGE difference.

Stop living in denial.

Shadow falls doesn't look that much different from current PS3 titles. More reflections, better lighting and sharper textures... thats all!

You only will see a significant leap in price...other than that you can watch TV now on you "video game console"
