I believe i was the 1st individual to make a big deal about PS4 and it being $399

Yes, this is what I am learning now. I would normally just translate prices via exchange rate, but someone here told me that was wrong. Thats something that needs to be changed. They should be paying at least ten euros less.


It has been like that here in Europe for the last 20 years in this industry, no way it is going to change now unfortunately.

OT: I'd say there will be 2 models available at launch. the €399 basic model with a 250 Gb hardrive and the €499 elite model with 1 Tb or 750 Gb hard drive with all the trimmings like a years PS+

I"d pay up to $500 for the thing. Anything more expensive is'nt worth it 2 me.

Seems likely to me. The PS4 is not the behemoth that the PS3 was and wouldn't have required nearly as much R&D (cell). Any more for the lowest SKU and it'll have a hard time post launch imo.

Stop worrying about whether they are stealing anything from MS. MS hasn't even shown anything yet. Even then I doubt Sony will retaliate until E3, so really we have two weeks of mindbending speculation ahead.

The PS4 is going to do more for less. I am sure Sony worked out a deal with AMD for a cheaper wholesale price on the parts since they will be selling a lot of them. The Cell on the PS3 on paper was going to help it but in reality it hurt it price-wise coupled with the Blu Ray and it didnt help developers whom were third party. Sonys first party understood it just fine, but it hurt the multiplats so this time around it was designed to not let that happen and still deliver very powerful games.
