MODS: This is for fun and shouldn't be taken seriously. If it crosses a line, please warn me and/or tell me what to amend. I would like to be an active poster when the next Xbox is announced :P. Thank you.

This is a message dedicated to all Xbox fans on Vgchartz. To those who also frequent Youtube console war vids, you may pass this to someone who would make use of it, so that my loyal supporters, and enemies of YT, may also see this for the lulz.
Dear Xbox Republic Nation:
We had a plan. We knew what is coming was inevitable. Nobody can accuse us of damage control because we foresaw the future since the beginning. As much as our gains meant, we knew not having mainland Europe and Japan in our grasp would undo our head start; it was just a matter of when. We were supposed to ride out the generation until the next Xbox released. At which point we would detach ourselves from the old and embrace the new so that when the inevitable happened, we would have moved on, rendering the enemies victory hollow.
But our masters have foresaken us; I shall be the first to admit. While many argue this from a games perspective, I argue that Microsoft has been building their internal teams, and the exclusives will be delievered in the next generation. They will be plentiful, both digital and retail. Of that I am certain. No, Microsoft has forsaken us with their practices, choosing profit over their title they had over Sony. While a good decision, we, the fans, will be shortly stripped of our last true bragging right: the right that our opinion was numerically superior; having strength in real world numbers despite a lack of numbers in the online battlefields of the internet.
This could have been easily prevented. North America, our strongest territory, could have been exploited with a simple price drop, rather then coasting on 2008 prices. A permenant $50 - $100 price drop on all models was more then in your power to do so, spread out over 4 years if need be. They also could have launched the next Xbox in 2012. The Xbox was criticized for being on the market for 4 years and then suddenly cut off. The Xbox 360 was 7 years old in 2012; nobody could accuse Microsoft of the same crime, especially if they planned to keep the 360 on sale in 2013 and beyond, which they are. It would be repeating the same winning strategy that Xbox 360 used to gain a early lead, which is also taking a cue from Playstation 2, releasing a year before Gamecube and Xbox. It seems our masters became cocky as our enemies of 2006, focusing less on competition and simply coasting. The fact that Microsofts cockiness is bringing in record profits while doing so isn't as consoling as we would like it to be.
Alas, here we are. With 6 months to go, we have lost our lead. We will shortly become what we called our enemy: last place. But worry not, for I am about to tell you the positive side to this matter. There are more good things to tell then you would think.
Firstly, since whomever has most lifetime sales can dictate the rules of fan warfare on the internet, as invented by the PS2 fans and carried on by the 360 camp (due to the Wii camp not enforcing their lead the entire generation), we had some rules. One was that lifetime sales mattered, not aligned launch sales. The other one was that the generation ends when the next one begins, or at least the last gen doesn't deserve serious discussion once all next generation consoles are released. The PS3 camp will likely amend these rules once their lead is official. It is here that I appeal to any Wii fan authorities. You still are 1st place. You have the power to veto their veto and enforce the rules the 360 camp enforced. Remember that my camp meant yours no hostility. Remember what Sony has done to the N64, Gamecube, and will do to the WiiU once PS4 releases. If anything the 360 rules benefit your camp as well, as Wii holds most sales despite current sales dropping off considerably, and the WiiU is technically still 1st place of the next generation, with many months to remedy its current sales situation. With your word, our rulings can remain unchanged.
Political requests aside, here is the main happy points to think about as a Xbox 360 fan this generation:
- We made the enemy bleed. 1st place for two generations and we slowed them down to a point where they could only take 2nd, not 1st, in a period of 7 years.
- Generation over generation, the Xbox brand improved in all regards. The PS division took a step backwards.
- 360 hasn't seen a price cut in North America since fall 2008. PS3 has since dropped over $150 from then to present, with not one, but two slim revisions. 360 had the power to hold a lead but chose to coast. PS3 had to claw and scratch to gain ground.
- The Xbox division profited almost 2 years before PS3 did. And going by pure numbers, 360 has profited hundreds of millions more then PS3 has lifetime. 360 will (or allready has?) made up for all launch and RROD related losses and is a purely net profit console, where as PS3 is still over a billion in the red lifetime. The point of the industry is to make money, so in this regard 360 will always be considered a bigger success then PS3.
- 360 has more 90+ 80-89, and 70-79 rated games on metacritic. Critically, 360 has a bigger and superior overall library.
- Most people you will likely see bragging about PS3 taking 2nd, live in North America and UK. Take comfort that where they live, 360 is the #1 choice for gamers.
- Microsoft as a corporation will always be superior then Sony as a corporation. Microsoft makes 5 billion in profit every 3 months. Sony didn't profit a penny in 4 years and had to sell almost $2 billion in real estate to finally make a profit in the 5th year.
My final message is that we still have a couple weeks. To that I say LIVE, LIVE DAMMIT! Get in as many last place comments as you can (try not to get banned lol), for they will be your last. The enemy will not be a graceful winner, and they will respond in kind regardless of our conduct in these final moments. After which we shall ride out the storm until November, and the cycle shall begin anew. Thank you.
