So the last company to announce somehow starts it? Remember that it won't be out for several months, so I don't see how an announcement can end a generation.

Meh, PS3 will likely be ahead anyway by that time (in real life time) so even this excuse can't be used.

So by Kowenicki's logic, nothing really starts until the Steambox gets announced. Or when SONY announces the price of the PS4. Or when the PS4 gets shown. Or some other spin tactic.
