Love it. I was going to say they should have buttons but than i saw the gamepad available. They can customize the android platform to their needs. That way they could run all the apps on google play and offer their content from E Shop.

Nintendo wouldn't be able to make a phone themselves. A smartphone is more than just a tech toy, it's the center of a lot of people's lives.

When you mess up a phone OS, you are messing with somone's *life*, ie: their job, getting to a first date on time (maps), social networking, etc.

You can't make the same mistakes Nintendo has made with the Wii U OS, look at how angry people got at Apple for a few hiccups with the new iOS. The OS would have to be 100% flawless.

Video game fans actually put up with a lot (our OS won't be ready for another 6 months, our PSN service has been hacked, you have to pay for our XBLA service to use Netflix) ... regular consumers would drag Apple execs into the streets and kill them if they tried that lol.

Maybe a partnership with Google to make a tablet someday I could see happening.

Yeah, I though the same. The gamepad made the whole deal. Not sure if they should go with android and e-shop, or maybe just e-shop. I doubt they would do one with just the android one though (I suspect that would mean that if they made a mario game for the phone, and they only had the android store, all the other android phones would get the game too. Nintendo would want that).

I think that if Nintendo were to go the phone rout, they would try to do it on their own. And while the OS of the wii u was flawed, it really is more than good now, and I think the current OS would be good enough for a normal phone user (on a phone with phone stuff of cource). While it is something that shouldn't happend, it is clear that the Wii U was rushed, and should have launched in august this year, with a bit better specs. It's all about not rushing it, and if they don't, I think they can make it. But they might have to start off with a partnership though.
