There is literally nothing wrong with Windows 8. Use it like Windows 7, but with some useful Metro apps occasionally (I basically just use Netflix and Skype). It just has much better keyboard shortcuts than 7

But personally, I just launch up Chrome and use it in the same way. Either click on the link on the start menu, type "windows button - chr - enter" (depending on what programmes you have installed) or click in the bottom left corner of the screen. You can also just press enter straight after getting to the start menu if you put the desktop link in the top left on the menu

Windows 8 has no negative effect on my productivity. If someone could actually explain what is wrong with Windows 8 then I would be very grateful. I don't understand the negative press

oh god don't even get me started on their skype app, fucking thing wanted me to link my skype account to my live account, I WOULD HAVE USED IT ALREADY IF THAT'S WHAT I WANTED YOU MOTHER FUCKERS(not you)! I downloaded the desktop version off the skype site anyways and uninstalled that app piece of shit so fast it's like "beam this shit the fuck out Scotty!"

Lol there is really nothing wrong with metro if you have a touchscreen... People should learn to accept changes.

It is bad change though. Microsoft have admitted it too so they are bringing out 8.1.

How has Microsoft admitted anything? I haven't read anything about anyone from MS outright saying words to that effect. No one has even confirmed MS will be righting its wrongs by adding an option for a traditional Start button or booting straight to the Desktop.

Try being a power user.   It can be a pain in the ass.

Much of the negativiety comes from the simple removal of features and the lack of the ability to jump straight into the Dekstop from boot.

What do you mean by a power user? I feel I take advantage of many features of Windows and use it on a dual-monitored desktop with no touch screen. I should be using it in the traditional way, which apparently is awful

Huh? I actually found that useful as I always forget my skype log in details. I use the metro version because then I can just snap it the side of a screen and deal with other things more easily

wanna know the problem with a unified account is? I shouldn't even need to tell you, I just hope you are not a networking security specialist, that, would be scary lol.

In the metro screen, just start typing whatever program that you want to use and voila! Done. That is probably one of the best features of Windows 8 (besides how quick it is). Additionally when you hover your mouse in the right corner of the screen you see a little pop on menu appear on the side. Get used to it because it is incredibly useful.

A comprehensive FAQ for Windows 8:

Q: (Insert any question here)
A: Uninstall Windows 8 and Install Windows 7

;o

I support this idea!

You do realize you don't have to use unified accounts?  I think it obvious that for corporations, unless fully thought out, traditional logins and security would be used.
