If you go into a retailer like Target or Wal-Mart the Vita space is already pretty small. Wal-Mart has cleared out the PSP sections in place for Vita hardware and It's about 8-10 slots for Vita games and a small spot at the bottom of cases for 3 VITA Skus (3G, Wi-Fi Vita + Another Wi-Fi Vita or Special Edition like COD Vita) so I'm not sure how much smaller you can go with the Vita, outside of probably 2 Vita system slots and 6-8 Vita game slots. It's already small enough. Target was just as bad.

Wii U is probably going to do better if Nintendo can show strong software this holiday coupled with a $50ish or so price drop, if Nintendo really wants to push the system harder. Wii U has one glass case at most Wal-Marts and decent space at Targets. I don't see it getting any bigger, but I don't see it getting any smaller. What's going to be really interesting is Next XBox/PS4 shelf space. Both have equal spacing here in the US at a majority of stores, maybe a slight advantage for the 360.

So Soul Sacrifice is already about half as big as MH in the US. MHU sold 60-70K in the US in more time than SS was tracked by NPD. This is the final proof that Capcom need go multiplat with Monster Hunter, this silly exclusivity deal with Ninty is holding revenues back! How can a company be that incompetent in their software strategy?

LOL, I don't think Capcom really cares about non-Japanese sales for the Monster Hunter franchise. It's gravy for them. The 3DS version had its sales split between the 3DS and Wii U SKUs too, otherwise it probably would've sold more, but for Capcom it's money either way.

Haha, that was pretty funny. In Japan, MH4 on 3ds will easily outsell the Vita HW LTD. It will be a long time until Vita HW can come close to MH4 3ds numbers.

So the atrocious sales are for everyone, particularly Wii U and Vita. There's still hope for Wii U, but right now there's none at all for Vita.

But, as othrs have pointed out, this is a very bad sign as we head into the next generation. People clearly don't want new consoles. I don't think it's people holding out for a PS4/NextBox, the general public likely don't even know they're coming. People just can't afford and don't want to pay $500 in order to play the best versions of the game, when they can still get the game for their current system at 1/10th the price.

As for 3DS? Eh...I don't know what to say really. Down YoY is pretty bad, certainly, but there's nothing to worry about with Pokemon and Zelda right around the corner.

Launch sales is all that matters now?

MH3U sold over 130K first month if you don't ignore that it is a multiplatform game anyway.

i don't know why people get so worried as gaming has always had its "diehard" fanbase mainstream come and go,i guess most of us will be subscription payers next gen round O_O
