When you align the PS3 and XBox 360 sales from their respective launches the PS3 is 10 million+ ahead of the XBox 360 at same point in time i.e. 6.5 years. PS3 versus XBox 360 selling head to head since the PS3 launched in late 2006: 77 million PS3 sold in comparison to 71 million XBox 360, PS3 is 6 million ahead.

The 360 and Wii have always had more marketshare than the PS3.

The PS3 has been in 3rd place the entire generation. It may have held 1st or 2nd place for specific weeks/months/years, but overall... 3rd place is 3rd place.

I know the problem : a guy from US who think WW is the same

1) so if I follow your logic, we must wait that PS4 and 720 are out to close the gen (which is wrong). It's same thing no matter what PS3 will be above. And PS3 is one year younger than 360, so why stopping this.

2) You are suffering the "centre du monde" syndrom. I live in France, everybody play on PS3, so by your logic I should say : "360 doesn't exist".

3) PS3 and 360 will be probably here for 3 years, or at least more than one year. Go in Europe (anywhere outside UK) and Japan, and see what console people play, if you say "360 was "the" console this gen" everybody will laugh at you, because 360 is at the last rank.

Conclusion : we are talking about Worlwide sales here, PS3 will be above, that's numbers, that's fact and not an egocentric vision who think USA = WW. Wake up... and like I said for years you will see weekly charts with PS3 above, because, man, the market outside US is totally different. As for the post above, I do not even need to answer it, that just stupid : it's a race, the final result is the big deal, we don't care that who were first during the race.

So if I go to a retail store and buy either a PS3 or X360 in the US or the UK and someone else buys the same system in Japan, my purchase is more relevant and the Japan purchase doesn't matter?  Why is that, because you don't live in Japan and only choose to care about your local market?  You can put whatever blinders you want over your eyes and try to ignore the facts all you want, but in the end, they still remain "facts"

Also with regards to IGN, Gamespot etc they actually play both. They review both etc. Just look at Greg Miller from IGN and inquire what he plays. If i go to youtube and I look up a 3rd party game for a specific "achievement" I'll get plenty of videos with the same game with the trophy guide as well. Alot of gamers today play on PS3, it is what it is, deal with it or not...your choice.

I know WW is what matters and ps3 is still in last place till this day WW. U.S is the biggest and most important market,that is why i brought it up. Uk as well and 360 is ahead their too so its not all of europe for sony. Wii u is out and the next systems are out,this gen is done and the places are set.

This is what Ive been saying for years.

U.S is a bigger market by far compared to japan,i didnt say it just because i live there. I know ign plays both but most of them play 360 mainly, like if its a multiplat its on 360. 360 is the main console this gen,it's anecdotal but you know it's true.

That comparison is  flawed,you compare them to when they release. Then by that logic we take away ps2s year headstart against gc and xbox,you dont do that though.

You know I'm right but you act like you don't know. That's a damage control.

Whatever man, but I'm sorry to remind you, every week charts will be here, yeah, the numbers won't be erased. So be ready to see 360 at the last place. But you can still act like it's doesn't count, no problem. Unfortunatly, it will.

I mean that's simple : PS3 will be above 360 WW... so ? What ? I mean deal with it.  And PS3 was release one year later.

Even if it happens they still are the last place system,like i said its way too late 7-8 years later aint going to cut it. The gen is over and next gen system are out this year. They  lost huge amount of marketshare this gen and MS gained a lot of marketshare.
