I would agree with him for the most part, I have tried playing the Wii multiple times, and just didnt find it appealing, but aside from the games, and graphics, the part I hated most was the inaccuracy of the controller sensor.

P.S. I have no preferred genre, I play them all.

The remote isn't inaccurate. It's just the devs are too lazy to put soem good effort in the games. Go play MP3 and come back.

So Wii Sports, the Wii's like #1 game was lazily developed? Wii play? Mario Party 8? Some of the Wii's biggest games all lazily developed? Wow... That sucks.

/sigh, no they're not. He was just trying to explain what you were feeling, because he has no idea what your talking about, and believe you must've been talking about some shovelware game. The Wii remote seems accurate enough to most of us.

I can see how being a Wii hater yourself, it might affect your judgment in that aspect, though.

Seeing the sales numbers will make you bitter, I admit that much. I remember back in the gamecube days.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Meh it's bashing yes but if he doesn't like those games it's his opinion. Myself I find those games very entertaining while I dislike games like Gears of War and Call of Duty 4.

Everyone has a certain bias towards things, the only difference is that some people don't care and won't bash and other will do anything to try to make people have the same opinions as themselves.

Aww, I thought this was a Soriku vs Leo-J thread

Well, actually Leo-J said in the "Where did you get your nick from"-thread that his name was Leo J-something-son, not Joel.

The other thing, is how are you describing accurate. Most people don't realize how the Wii Remote works, then when it doesn't work how they think it does, they cry that it is inaccurate.

If you expect to be able to look down the remote at the screen and the pointer be right there, then no the Remote is not accurate, as it doesn't work that way. However, If you expect to be able to point at each individual pixel that the Wii draws without the pointer shaking, then yes the Remote is accurate.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Joel Vs. the Wii

Joel Durham Jr. is a mostly PC gamer, but he dabbles with the 360 as well. He felt he couldn’t consider himself a real gamer until he tried out the Wii. He did so, but didn’t manage to find anything he liked. Here’s a portion of his post.

In the end, however, I tended not to care much for No More Heroes. It was too inaccessibly weird for someone used to Gears of War and Call of Duty 4. I don’t consider mowing lawns for cash compelling gaming. I can see the appeal of the Wii’s unique control system, but I don’t think it’s currently being used for a decent crop of games. I can’t see the appeal of Super Mario Galaxy (it’s just another 3D platformer to me) or Sonic Riders Zero Gravity (you have to have the reflexes of a transistor to succeed at that game) and the more grown-up fare, like No More Heroes and Manhunt 2 are, well, just not all that. Let me know when something comes out for the Wii that might appeal to an adult who wasn’t raised on anime and twitch gaming.

Wow, that’s a lot of bashing done in just a few sentences. Not only to Wii owners, but anime fans as well! Make sure to read the full Extremetech article before you make your comments. Full piece here.

Sounds a lot like the Joel we know ;) This guy is an idiot.

"Reflexes of a transistor to succeed at that game"

Basically, this is another scrub in the PC gaming world, and as other people said, a nobody.  I own a Wii and a High End PC for FPS gaming.  At no point did I feel that ANY Wii game was impossible to play or "newb"

I'll admit, the Wiimote and nunchuck setup took me a while to learn for Super Mario Strikers, but now I love it and I have improved VERY much in the game.

This newb probably tried out the system, decided that he was incapable of playing certain games, but at the same time creates an ego defense mechanism for certain games (i.e. Sonic Riders).  In short, this guy is kind of pathetic as a PC gamer, especially when saying that he plays CoD4 and bitches about reflexes.

1 scrub vs. 20 million+ Wii owners. SCRUB WINZ! LOL!OL!OOLOLOLLLoneoneone!oneevelven

Its not what people say that is offensive, it is how we react to it that determines offense or not- REBT theory of Albert Ellis.

Competing in online FPS since 1999.

Currently own a supreme gaming PC playing CoD4

Currently own a Wii with Mario Party 8, Resident Evil 4, Trauma Center: New Blood, Wii play, Mario Strikers Charged, and Wii sports. Looking forward to Super Smash Bros Brawl.

@OP: There are many who feel that way about the Wii, but few who dare say it. He could've toned it down a bit and been a tad more pro, but I can definately see why some (or actually many) people don't like the Wii. As you know; I'm one of them, even if it would never cross my mind to write an article about it just for poops and gags.
