If this thing was $100 I would be interested but $350 is quite ridiculous for what it is.

nah, actually expecting a device like this to be thrown at you for $100 is pretty ridiculous

Lol I do not expect it to be 100$, that is how much I value it. I value PS2s as 20$ machines nowadays but they still sell for 120$. If Wii U was 200$ I think I would buy it, but 350$ for the good version is ridiculous to me.

Wonder how you place your value.  How hard you work for your money?  Or comparatively to other devices?

that has no chance of success... surely?

And you really think otherwise? What would you call a success?

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I am dirt poor, I pay 325$ rent a month and it still too much. I live on 15$ of food a week. Last new game I bought was in November. I probably will not buy a PS4 or Nextbox until it is 250$ or 300$. Either one month of rent or a new console?

I see, that explains a lot then.

Nvidia made this thing to be profitable day one!!! I don't think they expect to overthrow the 3DS as king of the handhelds overnight. Though, it may take away sales from the Vita since the price is so close to each other (PSV:3G $300 vs Shield $349) with similar aspects and demographic target. The thing is pretty slick piece of tech, with a screen that puts the beautiful PSV screen to shame. The fact you could stream pc games is a plus. Here's Joystiq's take on the thing: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/nvidia-shield-joystiq-goes-hands-on/

Well we can always use more d00m. So i guess it is doomed. Very niche product though.

Hard to be doomed when the thing isn't even out yet.  Though it may not sell boatloads...I suspect Nvidia isn't expecting much in terms of sales either.  I think they might be happy with 4-5K units a week; but we don't know until Nvidia posts sales expectations for the handheld!!!

If only it had a 7 inch screen on it, it would of been worth the price. But, i don't think you can even compare it with Vita. Vita had stuff going for it at launch in terms of games. What does this have? A bunch of Android games that are available elsewhere anyway
