gun owners in America are notorious badasses they are better train than the military and the police officiers, So don't worry about them killing innocents peoples

exactly, law abiding us citizens are fully capable of overthrowing a government that has tanks, drones and nukes at their disposal, so some maniacs in a crowd are no problem to take care of - if only all of them had guns and were allowed to concealed carry

I don't understand how so few people actually get this, us freedom lovers are the last line of defence from the bad guys trying to take over

you make your proud freedom loving american heritage sad by writing it like this

Exactly! Just like a good guy with a bomb in Boston!

I see we got a smart man over the internet, some pussy tree hugers were mad at me when I said that in the thread about the boston bombing

He's not wrong. Where was your white armoured gunman? Nowhere. Shooting before that? Before that? It isn't a movie where the hero shows up at the perfect time to save the day. Real people, including wemon and children are dying. They don't get another chance to star in another shooting every other week.

Except... there have been plenty of shootings that have been stopped by people with guns.  They just generally aren't national news stories.... because the gunman is killed before it gets to the Mass murder stage.

Is there a figure? A percentage? If guns were controlled better there wouldn't be a need. Read curls post about us here in Australia. Sure, you can argue some points but no mass shooting in 17 years? That's numbers you can't argue with. Especially considering we did have a shooting nearly every year before that. The USA need to wake up. Laws that apply to people one year, or century can easily be outdated.

The last mass murder before the Port Arhur murder happened in 1992 as far as i can tell.

So to say Nearly every year isn't factually true.

Additionally....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monash_University_shooting

So... neither of those statements are actually true.  It's not like there haven't been other mass murders in Australia either.

It's also worth noting these mass shootings are vastly going up in the last few years... and gun ownership iin the US is actually... down.  So the correlation doesn't really hold water.  Unless you think gun ownership doesn't actually matter, but just the laws related to it.

Clearly the child thought that the gun was the answer too.

my question is why don't the criminals who have guns illegally ever stop these things?

Also, how do we know there wasn't just one suspect and two people trying to kill him?

A) Because they have their guns illegally?

B) Because gunfights generally don't last more then 2-3 shots... or last very long.  TV greatly embellshes it.

For example, the shootout at the OK corral lasted a total of 30 seconds.

Well that and witness reports suggest that 3 peope fired diecty into the crowd together then ran off again

A) So? Even criminals want to be seen as heroes.

B) Ss then the whole argument about people with guns saving the day is faulty?

A) Not if it means they are going to go to jail.

B) Gunfights.  That is,  a couple of people shooting at each other.  The gunman goes down pretty quick.  Or even small group like the aforementioned OK corral?  (Which actually, happened because of gun control.  People on both sides treat the wild west like it was some handgun paradise, but actually, guns were illegal in most towns.  The whole reason the shootout at the OK corral happened was becuse Clayboirnes group wouldn't give their guns up to Wyatt Erps group of sheriffs.  Having guns within the city limits of Tombstone was illegal.)

Mass spree shootings?  Those take time... because your shooting at a large group of peoples, you reload etc.

Owning a gun can save you from being shot.  Or a friend to be shot.

It can stop mass murder crimes.

It can stop robberies.

It won't stop a random third party shooting though.

It's funny too... despite their training.  Often times cops have worse records with this stuff then concealed carry people.  Shooting the wrong suspect, not stopping crimes etc.  Though... that's likely simply due to them not being at the scene at the time rather then related to police officers.

or killed a baby while shooting at the  guy with the gun.  it is rather idiotic to think he was the only person with a gun that day.  it is also idiotic to think that if some quickly disperse 12 rounds into a crowd the your captain save'em would have been doing anything but ducking.  have you ever been in a crowd during a shootout with your bad self?  i didnt think so.

i always laugh at these gun protectionist debates. most mass shootings were never done by "criminals". how many mass shootings happen when all these legal gun owners just snap. i am not against guns but am against the ignorance behind gun ownership in america. do you think everyone in congress believe in the gun b.s. they vote for? of course not. they are all just corporate sell outs that time and time again would rather americans die than do whats right.

i remember when the street sweeper was popular and an nra spokesman was ask what was its purpose. all the asshole did was chuckle. thats how they think. profits over death and all you defenders of ignorance support it

My levels of sympathy for American mass-shootings are completely depleted. They refuse to do anything to restrict guns and cry everytime a bunch of people get shot. You make your bed, you lie in it.
