An other case were a good guy with a gun could have saved the day

my question is why don't the criminals who have guns illegally ever stop these things?

Also, how do we know there wasn't just one suspect and two people trying to kill him?

A) Because they have their guns illegally?

B) Because gunfights generally don't last more then 2-3 shots... or last very long.  TV greatly embellshes it.

For example, the shootout at the OK corral lasted a total of 30 seconds.

Well that and witness reports suggest that 3 peope fired diecty into the crowd together then ran off again

A) So? Even criminals want to be seen as heroes.

B) Ss then the whole argument about people with guns saving the day is faulty?

A) Not if it means they are going to go to jail.

B) Gunfights.  That is,  a couple of people shooting at each other.  The gunman goes down pretty quick.  Or even small group like the aforementioned OK corral?  (Which actually, happened because of gun control.  People on both sides treat the wild west like it was some handgun paradise, but actually, guns were illegal in most towns.  The whole reason the shootout at the OK corral happened was becuse Clayboirnes group wouldn't give their guns up to Wyatt Erps group of sheriffs.  Having guns within the city limits of Tombstone was illegal.)

Mass spree shootings?  Those take time... because your shooting at a large group of peoples, you reload etc.

Owning a gun can save you from being shot.  Or a friend to be shot.

It can stop mass murder crimes.

It can stop robberies.

It won't stop a random third party shooting though.

It's funny too... despite their training.  Often times cops have worse records with this stuff then concealed carry people.  Shooting the wrong suspect, not stopping crimes etc.  Though... that's likely simply due to them not being at the scene at the time rather then related to police officers.
