Woah, that -4 for SAO had me worried, thankfully it was just upgrading to the LE...
I wonder how many Vita games will show up tomorrow...

I certainly don't think SEGA profited from yakuza 1 & 2 hd on wii u but that doesn't count as "testing the waters". releasing yakuza ishin on wii u would be a real "test". |
You need to take that up with the boss.
" I was interested in the Wii U format and curious about how many Wii U users would be interested in the Yakuza series, and the only way to find that out was to try releasing something. It was an experiment. But the sales weren’t great."

0, there will be nothing but psp games :)

I was wrong. This thread is definitely not boring. It's like a comedy duo... no trio... no quarto... up in here.
Also, it was a pretty interesting day on the chartz. That deep red is something I haven't seen in awhile.

Don't play with me like that...
To be fair, PSP games have pretty much dried up here on COMG, the last big title was GE2 and now there's pretty much nothing. Shows how Vita is finally beginning to grow into PSP's market space (not that it'll match PSP sales anytime soon)
| Fusioncode said: It's not a rerelease to Nintendo fans. They didn't get the game before. Sega was testing the waters and seeing if WiiU owners were interested in Yakuza, they proved they weren't. COD4 sold well on Wii even though it was a rerelease. Once again since you ignored the rest of my post, a higher install base would have changed nothing. |
it is a rererelease of 10+ year old games, people who really wanted it had already played.
This is the most failed excuse for an argument that i see. "old game doesn't sell well on a platform so there's no audience for it".
I suppose you think there's no audience for tomb raider on Xone, given how poorly it sold.

fixed, that would have been an actual experiment.

So what you're saying is, taking into account all the circumstances of Yakuza 1 & 2 HD on Wii U, a sales figure which is somewhere between 0 and 2000 is an acceptable first week figure for the game? In which case, I am going to have to disagree with you Zero. It's a terrible, terrible, terrible figure no matter the circumstances of the game and I and (kind of not) shocked that you are attempting to defend it. |
Given the circustances, there was simply no possibility of selling well. I'm not defending anything.

Vita has definitely grown, it wont reach anywhere close to psp, but i think it can do a healthy 8-12mil depending on how everything goes!
It needs to do at least 2mil this year. No excuses, so many consent games comig out (and some pretty big ones). It might be able to beat 3ds next year as it is easily increasing (in HW+SW) while 3DS is decreasing from the huge 2012-2013 years. (not that it matters but still says alot especially with all doom and gloom HH get in todays maket.)
