Rune Factory 4, a 3DS port, is about to pass a mainline Yokai Watch. If it does, I think it's safe to say Yokai Watch is dead. In other news, COMG needs Super Mario Maker 2 to get its ass in here now. If not for COMG's sake, then for ours, so we don't fall asleep looking at the charts.

I can't recall seeing this many sub-10 point entries on the chart for this long. We have 5 pointers sitting here for days.

And in 3 days, out point leader might be under 25 points.

I don't think Code Vein is losing 12 pre-orders in 3 days.

How well did Rune Factory 4 3DS do on COMG, and how well did the last Yokai watch do?

Well 200-300k FW +500k LTD Yo-kai watch (their was a yo-kai watch 2 sub game that was the last game).

Rune factory 4 the last one sold 5k but it was the best version then we hadn't a Rune factory since 2012 that did around 80K FW + 150K LTD.

I commented last time that Rune Factory will be a bigger succes and Yokai Watch a bomb.  Well we will see still some time to go :).

I checked in the meanwhile, and apparently RF4 was by far the bestselling of the series in Japan with about 400k LTD, so it makes sense that a Switch version would do pretty well, too. Might get very interesting for the already announced Rune Factory 5, and this port allows us to compare then both directly on COMG.

That said, I'm not totally convinced YW will bomb. It won't reach it's heights it had in the past, but It might do better than the last one in the end.

YW3 opened with 632,135 first week in Japan back in 2016. I sincerely doubt YW4 matches that on the Switch.

Again, guys, a PORT of a 3DS game that sold less than half a million LIFETIME in its original release is looking likely to outperform or at the very least match the performance of a NEW MAINLINE ENTRY of a POKEMON SALES TIER GAME on a NEW CONSOLE (for the series) where the last entry sold over half a million IN THE FIRST WEEK. Rune Factory 4 Special has no expectations for it, so it doesn't need to sell well. Yokai Watch on the other hand was on par with Pokemon at one point, and now it'll be lucky to sell 100k first week. If things don't turn around substantially for Yokai Watch, this is an epic bomb, no two ways about it. I've nothing against Yokai Watch, Nintendo, or Switch. I'm just stating the facts here. This is a truly astounding bomb we're about to witness. Yokai Watch has about a month and a half to prove me wrong and I'm cheering for it to do so because while I haven't tried it, it seems like a good series, and I might give it a try someday. But first it has to make it to the West, and considering how much worse YW does in the west, we're approaching the level of bomb where it wouldn't be worth the money to translate. VGChartz threw out most of their regional data (GRRR) but it still has some, and what it does have is sobering. Yokai Watch 2: Psychic Specters? 2.95 million in global sales, 2.69 million were sold in Japan. That's 91% of sales in Japan. If Japan shinks in sales by 80% or so, which is what it's looking like if COMG is remotely reflective of the Japanese market, then you're looking at less than 100k lifetime in the west if Level 5 bothered to translate it.
