Praise the lord, ARMS is saved! One whole point today!

Splatoon at almost 500 makes me happy.

Hopefully that single point for arms means its picking up steam :)

People are more hesitate with new IPs, Splatoon didn't do so great on COMG and sold amazingly. If ARMS ends up being good then it has nothing to worry about.

The problem for ARMS is the fact its being compared to splatoon. They have identical marketing push, both new big ips, same release strategy.

Problem many dont understand is the fact that splatoon was literally a huge hit not seen in a long time. (Especially on consoles). People now think ARMS have to replicate this success (or close to it), without realizing it doesnt have to do nowhere near it.

ARMS imo will be more bought/enjoyed by the west (obviously), and for Japan i still think it has a shot with WoM to have good legs. If the game ends up selling lets say 300k in japan lifetime, itll look bad but only because people will look at splat1 1.7mil figure (despite 300k for ex is huge as hell for a new ip, a fighter non the less)

To add to your point, 1.7 million for an exclusive is considered among the best sellers of this generation (not counting MH or Pokemon or YW). Even FFXV took a while to make it to 1 million in Japan. Back in the Wii/DS era, its almost child's play compared to Wii Sports, New SMB, etc.

Hooray for Splatoon 2!

So what are we expecting from Splatoon 2 lifetime in Japan? 3 million? 4 million?
